I went into 9310 many posts ago. Some think its as good or better, and its a lot cheaper because of the sole source for C158 including the certification and testing. Problem with 9310 or Aeromet and is that there is no testing of the sort that the Military has done with C158. Small tests and anecdotal evidence is what we have to go on. The question of testing and therefore confirmation has come up many times in this context, and you're right confirmation can't be found.

Oh, yea. I didn't see the quotes before. Obviously, my reading comprehension wasn't in gear. Thanks.

Preaching to the choir with me. I always buy what I want and don't care what anyone else buys. What entertains me on forums is another deal. I still run a 1990's Bushmaster BCG that never had issues, was maybe rebuilt once with new extractor and o-ring but didn't fail. Never had any issues with PSA Premium BCG's... woulda tried PTAC or whatever but IIRC I got the PTAC uppers with no BCG and bought those separately. I have mostly PSA BCG's. Only one I ever wondered about was a mystery BCG on a 300 Blackout upper from one of those sites similar to Radical. PSA is good in my book. I just know that you can't assume they are using the same manufacturers today as they were in 2010. I would be one of those people that thinks it is real good possibility that they use FN bolts for much of the stuff shipped out... they have a good relationship with FN to have their barrels on so many uppers and not just the CHF uppers.

Some people who know are laughing right now, I'm sure.

Nope, just two BCG's with the same quality from two different companies that only really differ in price. If you think the little letters "B" "C" and "M" being marked on the BCG are worth the huge markup then so be it.

Same with folks who say that because Toolcraft makes BCGs they are the same as BCM, LMT, Colt, Daniel Defense, is not taking into account that Tool Craft doesn't make (as far as I can tell) the BOLT for those BCGs, Which is, unarguably, the most critical part of the BCG. So, who makes the bolt? What grade of bolt is it? I am willing to pay more because of my DIRECT experience of buying, in a weak moment, a POS PSA "Premium" BCG which I had to replace parts on (ejector and ejector spring) before I even used it, had corrosion under the phosphate, crappy staking (looked like a 6 yo did it), and a MIM gas key. Hey, you like to take your chances and buy crap, fine, but don't go around spreading fairy tales. Consistency in quality and support matters to some of us. If it doesn't matter to you, why argue? I can afford to buy quality and consistency. I have spent time and money on BCG comparisons. I have 2 Daniel Defense BCGs, 5 BCM, 1 Colt, 1 Noveske, 1 PSA (worst), 1 Midwest Industries, 1 Riflegear?, 1 Generic Weapon's World (Toolcraft?), and few spare bolts. Some of these BCGs are spares, they all work, but there is a difference in quality. How many have you shot with and or compared?

Its been a year since the last post and few new products are on the market now. Few of interest include Brownells own new line - they have the TiN, NiB, chrome. Just wondering how do people feel now.... wanna buy a couple just to keep as extras or backups

Why? A full price BCM is >$175. Stop being a cheapskate and buy all your AR's their OWN BCG and be done with it.

Proper metals and HP tested bolts are the one you want. There are just a few companies that produce the bolds assemblies and carriers etc. Read the BCM literature and find a bolt that meets the criteria.
