That's when I first put it on and texted you about the offset I wasn't aware of.

It's flipped around and the mount is a bit more forward.

I stuck a 4x12 Vortex on my ^16" JD^. It's big but I can see the holes at 200 yards. With the Criterion barrel it took two clicks to zero it. It's never been that easy before.

Hahaha, I was going to say the same thing.

"Looks nice, just replace that pistol grip and you'll be all set!"

I keep seeing that grip showing up on people's featureless builds, and one of these days someone is going to get in a lot of trouble for it. The consensus, from what I've seen, is that it's not even close to being a featureless grip.

Sure, it's angled kind of like a thordsen, but

1) the thordsen gets away with that because it's a stock, not a grip. This is a grip, not a stock.

2) Even the thordsen puts your hand webbing significantly higher than this grip does. With this grip, there's virtually no way anyone could argue that your webbing is above the top of the trigger - it is barely (if any) higher than with a normal AR pistol grip.

^^^Yeah after posting last night I found a lengthy thread where what you mentioned above was discussed in detail. Personally it's not a risk I would want to take. I'll stick to my Thordsens.

I did 19 load ladders yesterday in the sweltering heat.
The Chrono gave out before I did. My most accurate 110 grain Accubond load did not get any speed ratings to document.

I think I have around 5-600 rounds through it and there's nothing I dislike about it. I don't have a ton of experience with various trigger brands so hopefully others can weigh-in with comparisons/experience. I do know that it spoiled me a bit as I'm in the process of upgrading my other MIL-SPEC/OEM triggers. I noticed earlier that Eltfmann is coming out with a new drop-in product so I pre-ordered one ($159) so I'm excited to try that when it arrives.

My Colt M4 and myself were alone again in the house today. I took it out of the safe and caressed and fondled it while my girl friend was out working at her job.

I know, and I wouldn't wish hardship on anyone... But, I hope some dumbassed lawsuit would temper the nonsense in this state. The ten round mags, the LCI, the not unsafe handgun roster, safety for all act...whatever...this stuff is ripe...maybe I'll enter law school.

It's, like, 400 degrees outside right now, I'm thinking about putting my buffer tube in the freezer before I go shooting tomorrow

Pulled the '61 Springfield out and gave it a once over. Looked at the tiny 5.56 bullet next to a .58 Minie ball... Civil War assault rifle...

Ordered some 556 bullets, and some paper cartridges for the Springfield.

AR guys need to branch out; there is a lot of fun life outside the AR world

No range time this weekend, but next weekend will hit Sac Valley... A little rifle range, a little skeet and 5-stand.

.308's are often over-gassed and like having adjustable gas blocks to turn down the gas, so if you're undergassed with the gas block adjusted all the way open (or if it's not an adjustable gas block) then your port alignment is almost for sure wrong.

I usually do it by plugging the chamber with something, and blowing air down the muzzle - then move the gas block around until you hear lots of air coming out the gas tube, then tighten it down.

There was a perfect circle of carbon from my gas block over my barrel when I took it off.
I have two set screw that line it up dead center. So it's not that.
But there was carbon coming out from under the gas tube(in the gas block) on the receiver end.
And same deal in the BCG. A lot of carbon on the bottom of the gas tube.

I need to read up(this is my first AR) on symptoms of under and over gassing. And figure out what My issue is.
