Default Tactical Machining 1911 Recon Holster?

What make and model 1911 is equivalent to TM Recon with regards to ID’ing a holster?

Looking at the information on the TM web site the TM is just an ordinary 1911 and should fit any length appropriate holster. As the frame lacks an accessory rail there is nothing that should make holster selection problematic. If you are in the the Orange County area I suggest bringing the gun my our shop, and trial fitting it. We have 1911 holsters in stock for most build types and your can check it out for yourself. The alternative is to go to a gun show with the gun and fit check.

WRONG, it has an accessory rail & why I stated "TM Recon"

Looking at their website I didn't see any indication of a 1911 with a rail. http://www.tacticalmachining.com/cat...lt/?q=TM+Recon

I went back and reviewed all of their pages still nothing with a rail. Although it would have been helpful to know that was part of the issue.

If you have a model with a rail the issue then would be full length rail or short rail. If you have a full length rail a holster made for a Sig Sauer Nitron will likely work.

If you have a partial rail then any number of guns from the Colt Marine , Les Baer Ultimate Recon, Kimber Warrior to Rock Island Armory Tactical fit that bill.

Of course we can order a holster for the gun for IWB, or if your local to OC or San Diego you can have a holster custom built to your gun by ZZZ, they do good work. I prefer their OWB holsters to their IWB but the quality of workmanship is excellent.

Hope you find what you want.

Kydex, leather, hybrids?? With leather I haven’t stumbled across any kydex just look for railed 1911s hybrids the same. As for holsters I use alien gear they work great and ask if railed or not no issues.

It's not a problem getting Kydex with a rail for 1911. Although they have long been used, hybrids present a problem with 1911's or any gun that is carried locked and cocked and has ambi safeties. A well make kydex eliminates the risk of the safety moving to the unlocked condition.
