Nice!!!
500 with a 2.75 inch barrel and no brake..... AKA flamethrower. Id replace those emergency orange bear grips with some black hogues. Make sure to try some Winchester 400gr PHP's in that. Most powerful factory or handload i've ever tried in a 500..... and I've tried them all.

Awesome gun and they only made ~250. :/

Default Smolts

Here's my latest toy, just picked it up from Maraviov's today. Craig did an excellent job on the conversion.

And a family photo with the other Smolts. The N-frame is a 1970s conversion done on a Model 27 by Bill Davis.

Just picked it up today. A 6 1/2" S&W Model 29-2, "S" serial number with Cokes. Looks unfired and is perfect. Didn't realize the early wood presentation case inserts were "mirrored" pieces.

Very nice. I do not own a 686, but have had the pleasure of shooting one many times. Congrats!

Here is my latest purchase, a minty Python manufactured the year I was born. The previous owner claims it was never fired, but I have no way to confirm.

I was *just* about to ask you for a pic of this grip. Any chance you still have the default Monogrip that comes with the 686, and could put it next to this one so I/we can get a size comparison? The S&W page you linked for me has zero info and whatnot, pretty darn useless.

I do have the original grip but am probably one of the few people on the planet still without a digital camera - took the picture at friends. I'd go to a local gun store and check the grip out on a 460 XVR or 500 mag.

Gotcha, 460 VXR or 500 mag. I am not at all opposed to visiting gun shops.

Here is my Dad's service revolver that he carried the last 5 years as an Air Force OSI Agent- Mod 36-1

Here is the "Little Dog" - Mod 60 (no dash)

Here is the "Stray Dog" - the last gun my Dad bought before he died. He saw it in a case at a gun show. He said it lloked like a stray dog so he brought it home. Mod 15 (no dash)

Here is the "Nasty Dog" Mod 19-4

And finally here is the "Big Dog" Mod 629 (no dash)

Got a chance to set up and take a real picture after cleaning today. It's still a point-n-shoot cam so it's a bit grainy...

Here is a pic of my 629 5 inch classic. I have shot the crap out of this thing so it does show some wear and tear but it still shoots great.

I was given this Colt Detective a year ago as a Christmas present. I was told it had only been fired once, as in 1 round.

And here's the same gun wearing a black Tyler T grip and ivory corian magnas custom made by Don Collins:

Finally, my favorite shooter - a rare 7-shot 586:

That was me. It was a high price, but fixed sight L-frames are very rare in this state. Plus, I made up for it two weeks later by getting a NIB Model 27-2 for only $100 more! Here's a photo - it is still in the CA 10-day jail so I haven't shot proper pictures of it yet, but here is a taste:
