shooting rest for angeles?
i was out at angeles yesterday with my new bolt gun and shot out to 100, just trying to get a feel for the gun. i do have a caldwell bag but haven't even filled it yet. given the slope out there it would not have been high enough for me to get comfortable. even at 100 i was shooting at a noticeable incline. i'd like to eventually be able to shoot at the longer distance steel but will need a high enough rest for that side of the range.
i could just keep renting the field rests but that gets old. any recommendations for a rest that has decent height adjustment? it may move a bit with each shot, but i'm leaning towards this plastic caldwell cuz it's lightweight https://www.amazon.com/Caldwell-Adju...+shooting+rest |

The plastic base rests flex too much...
If you want to stick with Caldwell brand, I recommend the Rock or Rock Jr rest. The base is made of metal, so it's heavier, but that's a good thing for a bench rest. If you want something lighter, use a bipod. http://a.co/g0Btxl7 http://a.co/gI5MSNm |

You don't need a "high end" rest. A cheap, $100-$200 front rest will work just fine. In fact, I bought a Sinclair style front rest from ASR several years ago for under $200. If you want a cheap front rest, I have one out in a shed that I'd sell you. I'd have to go dig it up to tell you exactly what it is though.

I got these on Amazon after seeing them used on YouTube. They've worked fairly well for me thus far.
