Default G19X...anyone able to carry on duty?

I bought a G19X on a whim, but found out I cannot carry it on duty because they will not let me carry a tan gun. Does anyone else have this issue?

No. My dept allows a wide variety of colors. I carry a black/tan (frame) M&P 2.0 long slide

Same thing here. Our SWAT guys can carry it. Patrol has to be black (or blued I suppose) or stainless.

I’m in Los Angeles. The 19x is fantastic and is such a great carry gun.

I suppose it would look a little non-conforming in a blue uniform with black leather gear. I suggest you coat it.

I have to ask: What is the realistic benefit of the 19x over the 17 for duty use? The mags are not unique to the 19x and can be used in the 17, no?

I work rescue, so having a shorter barrel and shorter holster makes my life a little bit easier.

I would buy a 19x if it were black. I heard that they will be coming out with other options in the future.

I love Glocks and the G17 is my duty weapon. Also usually carry Glock 19 off duty. Maybe I am missing something but I am underwhelmed by the G19X.

I’m in the same boat. Don’t see much of a point to it, honestly.

Shorter barrel, quicker draw time.
With full grip and full capacity.

We can carry a 19x in our department....actually I wouldn't mind carrying one. I wonder if Glock will come out with a black version.

I guess if glock put and Glock 26 slide on a 19x frame, draw time would be even more quicker, full grip and full capacity. Lol. Just kidding.

My buddy carries a 19x on duty, but he's detective so he's special.

On topic, I emailed Glock and asked them if there was any plan to release the 19x with an MOS cut. They said no but a black model would be released in October 2018.
