OUCH! FOR the 1911 fanboys!

"The Sig Sauer P226 served with the U.S. Navy SEALs for twenty-eight years, before eventually being replaced by the compact version of the Glock 17, the Glock 19."

OUCH! Again! For the Sig fanboys.

Glock will slowly but surely, take over the world!
No no. This time Glock was adopted purely for budgetary reasons. It's just cheap and "it works". Not because for example they thought it was a good fit for their missions. Never Glock. Get with the program! (tongue in cheek)

Best is subjective. You can hand me a 1911 worked over by Larry Vickers or a genuine MEU/SOC 1911 but I realized I simply dislike cocked and locked pistols personally. There's just no getting around that. Some people just can't shoot certain pistols well compared to others. I really think pistols are like shoes. Some just fit better than others.

When I was a younger man in the early 80's, the list was short.

It was:

Single action - Casull

Double action - Korth

Semi Auto - Sig P210

These days, there's any number of customs like Linebaugh for single action.

Same goes for semi auto.

There's a school of thought that the Manchurin is very similar to Korth.

Since the list doesn't include Beretta 92 it can't be taken seriously.
I'd agree with you but then we'd both be wrong...

Well, once Glock does finally take over, it will suffer the same fate as the 1911 and be replaced with a phased plasma handgun in a 15- 20 watt range.
I dreamed of owning a (insert off roster gun here)...

Oh yeah....then the earth splits open with me on one side and the (off roster gun) on the other. A large red-glowing pit with gavin newsome, diane frankenstein and governor brown at the bottom with pitchforks.

If that was the case, Glock would be running away with it.

Glocks are like ugly girls, all their parts work, but sexy makes the experience that much better.

Well Kyle wrote and can write an article to get a discussion going. In this case, when you title "5 best Guns in the World: Smith and Wesson, Colt and Glock Top the List" it's start something. Colt no longer makes most 1911s and hasn't for decades, while almost everyone else does.

It also helps get the talk flowing when you don't have a criteria for what the "best" guns are and why they are the "best". Is it by sales? by purpose? by how many times they are mentioned on the web? By what they carry on NICS? Why the Glock 17 when the 19 is more the favorite of private consumers?

So any way...Bacon!
