S&B 9mm FMJ $237/1000rds at Sportsmans Guide - now OOS :(
This is loaded hot 9mm S&B rounds that has been hard to find lately.
The Slickguns link says it's out of stock but click the link and you'd still be able to order (at least as of 9:35 a.m. PDT today.) $19.99 shipping to CA for 2000 rounds Downsides: - A lot of people don't like SPG as they do not ship AR parts to CA - they charge CA sales tax. The closest deal to this is the one at PSA at $14.99/box ($299.8./1000rounds) + shipping Last edited by beanz2; 10-29-2013 at 3:23 PM.. |

I've had stores like CDNN cancel my orders without my consent, but never Sportsman's Guide or Cabela's. IIRC, the shipping for 1000 rds is $15, so buying 2000rds at a time gives you the cheapest shipping costs. If you order more than 2000 rds, SPG hits you with added "heavy shipping charge", but all in all, the added charge is still less than if you were to order another 2000 rds separately. I think you'd be pleased to see that these are new, not reloads. Last edited by beanz2; 10-25-2013 at 4:22 PM.. Reason: added info |

In my own experience, Cabela's brass cased 9mm Herter's is not loaded as hot as S&B brand 9 mm even though they come out of the same factory. But they are still good ammo, I keep a bunch too.

They have sent back to back letters within 10 days (not emails) demanding to be called back within 10 days otherwise they will cancel the order.
Now they put the same ammo on sale at a much higher price than what they sold them last December for. Very easy to put 2 and 2 together that they want to weasel out. FTC is just a weasel excuse. I have back orders with other vendors for over a year and they haven't contacted me. When parts became available, they shipped them. Sportsman guide is the only vendor I know that uses the FTC excuse. Midway doesn't. Brownells doesn't. Cabelas doesn't. Quote:

Most of my backorder delay notices I got from SPG have been e-mails and I have only received 2 or 3 of the notices as letters. Either way, be persistent. I am 95% sure I will get the ammo I ordered, eventually. I waited 7 months for my milsurp 5.45, 5 months for my 62gr Xtacs and still waiting for most of my S&B 9mm. While I too have had Cabelas back order stuff for me, their back log has never been > 30 days. Brownells backordered an LMT AR lower for me that after 6-7 months I cancelled as I could get it cheaper elsewhere. True, they did not send me notices. So who knows about that FTC regulation (shrug) |

I would still rather support the companies who support us. They charged a LOT more money recently for products. Not compared to cheaper than dirt maybe, but either way I would rather pay $10 bucks more and buy from a very solid company. |

Fair enough. I've ordered mostly ammo from them. IMO, there are better and cheaper sources for parts.

^ This. I accepted one of those emails early this year and got a call from the new owners of our house that a "small but heavy" package arrived for me. TSG never cancelled the order although I would have appreciated a shipping notification to remind me that I had a shipment going to my old address!

Yup, you and me both. Their Hornady 5.45 is cheaper than anyone else right now, Midway, Cabelas, Graf, etc. Did you see Midway got rid of their 2 boxes limit when Sportsman Guide started selling theirs with no limits? Competition is a good thing! |

I am glad you got this order. I ordered the same ammo in Jan but am still waiting.

They also still owe me quite a bit of S&B ammo ordered at pre-Sandy Hook Panic prices, and this white box allows them to sell these under a different stock number at a higher price before fulfilling the back orders for the usual red, green and white boxes. Who knows how long S&B will keep supplying them with the white box ammo. But now we are starting to see the usual S&B colored boxes coming to the other vendors (Selway, Able Ammo, Bulk Ammo as of time of this writing have them in stock albeit at higher prices.) I have the feeling it's a matter of time before Sportsman's Guide will have to sell them again to compete.
