Can anybody recommend an M1 Garand Armorer in the South Bay (Los Angeles)?

I have a buddy who bought an M1 Garand a couple of years ago. One day after the range, he stripped it like he'd done many times before and then he couldn't get it back together again.

He seems to think that there is something wrong with it. That it got warped somehow. I think that he'd forgotten how to get it back together. Either way, he needs some help.

Could you recommend a reputable armorer? Any idea how much something like this would cost?

I'd like to get him up and running before my range trip next month. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you!

Thanks for all the replies and the offers for help. I live in Redondo Beach and my buddy lives in Manhattan Beach. I'll send him the links to the CMP see if he can do it himself. If not, I may contact you eviioiive.

Thanks again!

www.odcmp.com has reassembly onfo.

the Armory of Orange in Orange can help you, they are nice folks.

maybe somebody at Northridge Int'l. could help.

bring it to Riverside and I'll put it back together and check the headspace for nothing.

have him look through this before spending a bunch of money...

sometimes the trigger group is a bit difficult to get back into place. I can't see it getting warped? it's a military rifle & a pretty rugg'ed one at that.

Where in the South Bay? Maybe someone local can help him. I'm in Harbor City, San Pedro area.

see if he can put it together minus the stock. My M1A is a bit troublesome when trying to get the trigger group back into it to lock everything together. With the stock out of the way he can see where everything is going and hopefully it'll spark his memory into how to put it back together correctly.
