Default Is a folding stock legal to use on a SKS?

A friend of mine asked me if its ok to use a folding stock on a SKS.

I didn't think it was legal even if it has a fixed magazine.

I think its under the (30 inches and can be fired) rule..

It has to be 30 inches, for a paratrooper, add a muzzle break to make it 30 inches. You have to play the 922r game which everyone ignores but you can't. Just pin the stock and he will be fine, add a tapco fixed magazine and he will be fine. Add the Tapco magazine if his fixed ten rounder takes 11 rounds.

I have a norinco paratrooper with spike bayonet, fixed magazine in a combat exchange folding stock which I pinned. I bought it from gunslingers in glendora.

Remember, a chinese sks has 14 imported parts, replace the stock, handguard and put in a Tapco magazine and you have an American made RIFLE.

My beliefs are different, the only Sks that should be altered are the chinese made because they are not C&R, leave the Russians, Romanians, and the others alone.

You mean if you have a Norinco SKS, you have to make it 922r compliant even if its stock? Meaning its has the wood stock and fixed magazine..

No, 922(r) kicks in when you modify the rifle from the imported configuration.

As long as the length requirement is met and has a fixed mag that holds no more then 10 rounds then that is legal.
