Which rifle is that, OP? I don't believe you've mentioned it. Looks like a nice rig!

What was the distance on your targets?

When I received my Savage M10 (.223) scope (a Nikon) combo, it was factory boresighted. I did a few test shots at 25 yards and it required further adjustment. Next, I went out to 100 yds and got it dialed in. It will shoot 1 MOA at 100 all day when I do my part.

So this is a Bergara B14 Hunter. I picked it up on here for a good price. It came with an Element Optics 6-24 SFP scope.

Got it..my mistake for thinking it was a combo package. How do you like your Bergara? Does it meets subMOA accuracy?

A bench makes a great long range shooting platform. I can also recommend a couple good rifles.

So the rifle I got is just to learn on and hold me over until I pull the trigger and a better setup. Something with a nice big barrel in maybe 300 PRC. Catch me some of that 1 mile steel.
I have taken this rifle out a few times and got some ok groups but Iím sure The rifle shoots better then I do. The scope is good for the money but if I was buying one I would jump into the $1,000-$1,500 range. Still havenít tried running it out past 600 yards yet but we will get there.

Buy a typical Mosin Nagant, spend the rest of money on authentic span can ammo and associated range fees..

LOL, I meant what did you get?

.300 PRC is apparently good, but if you just want to hit steel at a mile, it's unnecessary. 6.5 PRC or 7mm SAUM is probably fine, it just won't clang as loud.

If you want to be a cool kid into the future, maybe see where the .300 Norma goes. It's a new cartridge for the military, but the upheaval last year doesn't make it easy for a new cartridge to hit the market. But I haven't seen any rifles chambered for it unless maybe you want to spend a pile for a Barrett MRAD.
