DROS record retention of long rifle purchese
Hello everyone,
How long is the hard copy of the DROS file kept by an FFL. This pertains to a long gun purchased in CA prior to 01-01-2013. Are they destroyed after a required period of time and is the FFL the only entity that has the information contained in the DROS hard file? Is any information kept by a .gov agency. I'm just curious since I bought a rifle earlier this year, I do like my privacy. Thank you for your assistance. Ken |

You mean like the 4473 being kept for 20 years? How about the bound book? There is no privacy when it comes to firearms purchases through a dealer.
