Mitch and Ingrid,

It was a real pleasure to have you both on the firing line. I look forward to meeting the rest of the MT crew once they have rested up.

All the best,
Robert

Default Lost and Found

There were a couple of items left on the range at last weekend's shoot. First is a pair of high top, dark-colored shoes left on the range after Saturday. I also found a hammer left on the range after Sunday. If you are missing either of these items, let me know and we will get them back to you.

I think Mike and I are ready for another AQT. I installed Tech Sights on the Take Down and the Simmons 22 Max scope on the All Weather. We struggled with difficult to adjust factory sights all weekend, never shooting above a 90. On the last AQT Sunday Pat suggested we try a loaner rifle with the Simmons 22 Max scope. Mike shout over 150 and I shot a 177. I ordered the Tech Sights and the scope before we left the parking lot.

You guys were the very right on the firing line right? I thought your son Mike was way closer to the qualifying score than that.
Yes, factory sights are pretty useless and those two options plus your discipline in the techniques learned will dramatically improve your consistency and accuracy.

oops, your pic just loaded up.
Consider your cheek weld to that scope mount.
?s: 1. too far back for a turkey neck?-sight picture is black ring or fuzzy small- 2. Scope mountings looks high in this angle, does the head come off the stock to see thru the scope? if so there are mounts that are lower

+1 on elfstone's questions/comments on the scope, I had to remount mine after Saturday's shoot to get a better position for prone. But I still never could get a good cheek weld with the takedown and scope/rings (the stock is just too low) so I've got an Accu-Riser on order

Even though the scope seems fine, I don't like the crappy mount. I ordered an all in one system of mount and rings. We used a bore sight to get it sighted in perfectly at 25 meters. The Tech Sights were perfect right out of the box, but I ordered a different front post that is supposed to help with shooting at shorter distances. We are signed up for Sunday the 16th in Corona.

New, lower mount. I like it much better. It seems a lot more stable.

Cool mount! How is the eye relief for you with that mount? When you do a turkey neck in prone can you see clear to the edges of the glass w/o black shadows? It may just be that I am a pencil neck, but I usually have to move my scopes as far forward as the mount will allow.

Seems fine so far, but I haven't applied any loc tight to the ring screws yet in case it has to be moved. We will need to find the sweet spot the works for two different shooters.
