The Mausers used by the Boers would have been the same type as this M1895 Chilean Mauser.

Wow...

My wife has a refinished/reblued Chilean with a sharp, bright bore. I thought hers was nice but it pales in comparison to this one.

Where do you think the Russians got the design from?

Same story with the Sturmgewehr and the Kalashnikov.

As an owner of a check VZ-24 (the best) I wonder at your markings. A couple of things stand out to me, one is the lack of a date stamp the other is the lack of a crest. Can I assume then that your VZ-24 is post war? Or am I mistaken.

What do you know about FG-42s? heheh man those are gorgeous. Do you take first borns?

Nice looking mausers. Where is a good place to find a nice German 98k these days? I hear they are dried up or mostly turned into m48 and other refurbs.

That one is a 3-line straight around 1929 or 30. The rampant lion crest started 1933 to 39. From what I have read and seen.
