Default What's stopping you?

From shooting competition? A sore elbow, bad knee, hurt back, tooth ache, paper cut?

Nothing is stopping this guy! He is a WINNER, not a whiner....... DVC

USPSA shooters don't care about no stinking rain! Well, the guys with $4,500 STI Open guns do use gun covers, but Glock guys think it's a gun wash. Yes, we shoot, unless the match is specifically cancelled, call 951-846-9550 or check Twitter before you head to the range.

Shooting in the rain is easy, it's taping and scoring that sucks.

That's one reason I prefer USPSA. We just put out more steel. We did cancel last year's Thanksgiving 3Gun at Sac Valley because you couldn't see the targets through the rain. This year was beautiful.

The IDPA club here cancels if it rains; I can't blame them after last Sundays storm.

The fact that I don't know where ANY competitions are held.
It's almost like you have to know someone that knows someone, that has a guy that can sneak you into a competition match.

Where, in San Diego, do they hold shooting competitions?! I WANT to Run n Gun! I WANT to 3-Gun!
Im seriously SICK of shooting random crap in the desertand trying to make my own courses.

It doesn't help that a lot of posters are terrible about posting information when they make a match thread.

Sometimes it's: CLW P%^ club match on Saturday see you there! Or " The match is on this week, see you there!"

What? What does that even mean. Post some clear information. Date. Time. Range name. Club name. ADDRESS.

HighLander, thanks for the post.
I used to race bicycles, and once at a 20K time trial (individual rider against the clock), I was almost beat by a one-legged rider! He was a Vet from Iran, and he was in training for the Paralympics. I was almost 2.5 times his age, but would have gladly been happy if he had beat me!
On a side note, a charity I support is Disabled Sports Eastern Sierra. They take disabled Veterans and children alike, and teach them the wonders of winter sports. This program has helped many a returning disabled Vet get back into loving life.
Here's a link: Disabled Sports Eastern Sierra
