Check out http://iaaforum.org/forum3/index.php They have a full site with sectioned rounds and other great information plus a quartery publication if you become a member.

I have to warn you though, collecting is EXTREMELY addicting! I started just with .303 British and now have over 2500 in my collection and that's just the .303! I have started branching out into .30-06, .30-40 Krag and other large rifle rounds. The belted cartridges are very cool as well as wildcat stuff.

Now I've started collecting stripper clips as well. I never knew there were 5 different types of stripper clips just for the .303 brit alone.

Linked ammo can be fun as well because there are so many different types of links. Unfortunately, I live in the Peoples Republic of Kalifornistan so I can only have linked sections up to 10 rounds

Keep an eye on the Vintage Ammo section of gunbroker.com. I have found extremely cool stuff there but you gotta watch every day.

It's fun to learn the origins of all the cartridges and it keeps me out of trouble... For the most part.

Do they have to be live rounds?

I can send 10mm and .243 with a spent primer & filled with sand/flour/dirt instead of powder, but I'm hesitant to send live ammo via usps.

I'm not only interested in cartridges I've previously listed though. Anything I don't have shown in my collection is something I'm looking to acquire!

if it don't have to be live I have 6.8 Rem SPC I can load for you (no powder or primer)

also I don't see you have a 22-250 (I have one of those also)

At the minimum, I'd like to at least have a live primer just to be consistent with the rest of the collection, if that's alright with you.

Thanks!

I had been wanting to update the thread for a while, I just didn't have the time with finals and work.

Thank you again, it makes a great addition to the pistol calibers!

what is the rules for shipping live ammo? (also just so you know, I reload all my own ammo so these are to be for parts only)

also, I will look and see what other oddball stuff I have. if shipping is not a pain in the ***

USPS does not accept live ammo, but I have never had a problem with well-packaged rounds in small quantities (1-7 or so) in the past.

If you want to do things by the book, you'll need to ship them via UPS Ground and identified with ORM-D labels.

Very nice collection of cartridges you got there---I have been collecting single shells on a purely random basis for decades---especially odd rounds like the British Express rounds---the biggie being a live .600 Nitro Express (got to shoot one once---once was more than enough!) along with my specialty---older 22 ammo boxes (full)---love the variety and colors as I grew-up shooting all kinds of 22s. A truly fun aspect of the shooting sports...

PM me your address and I'll send you a .460 S&W. It will have a used primer and no powder as I load my own and do not want the liability of something I made having an issue in case someone uses it. Otherwise, it will look live and ready to play.

I'll have to take some pictures of mine as I have had my collection for over 50 years now and have some very interesting pieces. One from the CIA with no head stamp etc. The one below is likely the largest rim fire you've seen?

.22 Winchester Automatic... It falls into the kind of rare that many experienced collectors have never heard of it.

Talking two to send

Good Morning,

I like your idea, so, let me check I might have two to send you. A 22 short, unless you already have that one. Also a Win Mag from Weatherby. Not sure if I still have them. I was pulling brass apart the other day. I know that I do have a steel case 9mm, if you are interested..

Let me know, and an address to send to.

Steven

yeah next time I get into the reloading room i'll dig through and see what I've got. I know at least 7.62x54r, 7.65x53 argentine mauser, and probably some jap or Italian stuff too, at the very least.
