Not really. I like a medium UTG riser for a solid cheek weld, and cowitness with irons and pop ups, but it depends on your cheek. No riser is too low for most though.

So what's everyone running these on? I've seen them on 22 pistols, Buckmark s/Ruger MKI, MKII.

Nice I need a coouple of these. One for a 10/22 and one for an AR. What about the utg risers. My 10/22 has the rail already there and the AR has rear flip up sights. Med or high or no rider for the 10/22

Not tall enough for AR, they offer the high rise mount but its $70. Or you can get the UTG mount. I use one of these low mount ones on an AK. Holds zero very well.

I use it on my VZ2008 in 7.62x39 ...! It even co-witness with the iron sites!

Medium, I think. The mounts are cheap and returnable.

Has anyone received theirs yet, are you getting the new or old model (what color is the lettering, what position is the emitter)?

Mine arrived this morning.
It's the new model, white lettering. The emitter is oddly enough, at the 5 o'clock position.
My older unit has the emitter at the 4 o'clock position.
The good news is that the red dot does not disappear on the upper third of the field of view.

I received mine last week (white lettering and 5 o'clock emitter) and then remembered all my AR's already had nicer optics ... so I had to go out and buy a new Browning BuckMark Contour URX to put it on. Typical Calguns solution.

FYI, after several weeks of hovering over $60, it's back down to <$45 as of late.

Anyone have one and like it for their AR or AK? Yes I should invest in a better quality optic, but as a short term place holder?

Friend has one on an AK, he likes it.

I forget to turn red dot sights off, so I got a Holosun with the auto shutoff and long battery life. Well worth the additional money to me.

I personally wouldn't put it on a rifle. Mine is on my Buckmark Hunter and it works fine.
