Private property and they do not permit anyone to carry a firearm inside the park. This includes sworn law enforcement. After 13+ years I know how to "do it right" and I still respect their rules and leave it in the car.

And seriously doubt your that there would be any reason inside the park to be CCWing. I believe carrying is only opening yourself legally to a real bad situation. The first part of having the privledge of a CCW is knowing when to and not to carry.

There are some places I can care less. Saw a big sign at Toys R Us and most comedy clubs we go to. I just move right along. But Disney cost me lots of money in memberships and its not worth the risk to ban me and my family from the park.
Their security is no freaking joke. I would be very careful doing what you are. It may seem lax to walk in but they know what to look for and have undercovers all over the place. |

If caught inside the park, Disney will: 1. Take you to security (APD section) 2. You get cited out for trespass 3. Firearm & permit confiscated as evidence 4. Issuing agency notified 5. Barred from all WDC properties, along with the family Should one fail the attitude test during the process expect a TRO, resulting in the loss of all firearms. WDC does not play games & has the political muscle to back it up. I know of at least one reserve office who lost his badge being stupid. |

I've taken way to many vehicle burg reports to ever leave a gun in a car.

I know a veteran LAPD officer that was with his family inside the park and was approached by the brother of a man he arrested. The officer maintained his cool and no ugly confrontation occurred. Now I'm pretty sure he has "something" with him when he enters the Magic Kingdom.

As the OP indicated, Disneyland will also accommodate sworn LEO's or LTC folks with a locker (free) to secure your weapon while you are in the park. You just have to ask. If a private property establishment does not allow LTC, CCW, off duty LEO, etc to carry, then that is their right. I either gun down or go somewhere else. The person who carries into there anyway just because he thinks he is slick is a d-bag. Last edited by Bobby Ricigliano; 04-01-2013 at 2:09 PM.. |

I'm not sure how you people are getting caught with a pocket knife at disneyland. I never leave it in the car and I even used it to cut up my son's meal last time I was there and no one even batted an eye. Maybe some of you need more lessons in how to not act so obviously guilty.

I'm curous how many of the people bashing carrying at DL here are actual CCW holders? If I refused to carry anywhere people didn't like me to then the tool would always be left at home. Remember I am the weapon, not the gun, that is just a tool.

I lived in La Habra in 1955. My family went to DL that year, when it opened. Few lines and really cheap for entertainment back then (compared to today). The whole concept of needing a handgun there blows my mind and messes with my memories of the place. The concept is to be having a lot of fun and show the children a real fantasy of a good time. Myself, I would not want to ruin the vibes carrying my LTC weapon. If one needs a weapon at DL these days, it surely has become a major downturn in our society.
How many shootings or knifings has there been at DL in the past 10 years? |

1) how would carrying concealed ruin anyone's vibes? 2) you only carry when you need it? You use to not need to defend yourself while watching a movie with your family either. If we all only carried once we needed it then it's too late. Concealed means concealed

I still dont think I have seen in this thread where they will hold pistol in lock box on grounds? Im not really worried about Disneyland..its the small world outside the gates. Just like schools and colleges. Schools are for learning and Disneyland is for fun. Guns have no place there. I mean what can really happen at those places?

I would be extremely hesitant about a fired round going through an attacker's flesh and not stopping before hitting one of the thousands of kids there. It's hard enough to turn around and not trip over kids at disneyland.

2. I carry when I feel I am in or will be in a high probability area or situation. I do not carry everywhere when I leave my ranch. However I do always have one handgun in my truck’s center console.. Remember, 'know your target and beyond'. Hard to do at Disneyland. I would rather take a slug than accidently kill a child. |

From personal experience I can tell you that:
1) Anaheim PD has dedicated officers that are pretty much Disneyland PD 2) There are lockers, but you will waste a lot of time trying to get to one (remember the people who check your bags are people who are new or not considered guest interaction material My advice: bring your portable lock box and leave your gun at your hotel. If you need to go out of your room at night then carry (outside the park). Also dont let the "squeaky clean" image fool you.... Disneyland has a private police force that does not consist of the guys in the white hats that walk around the park. Their armory surpasses most small to mid sized PD's.... They also have dogs (drug and bomb), and their are armed security officers in the park, you just dont see them (the Disney Magic )... How do I know this? I worked there while in college |

Part of being a responsible CCW is knowing when/where to carry. Disneyland is private property and their policies trump a CCW.

Vote with you wallet, don't dis em
Quote:
Vote with your feet and don't buy / use their product or service. The huge disrespect for property owner's individual rights and their rules / restrictions in this thread is horrendous. This comes from a segment of our society that supposedly respects basic rights of individuals... I am a small business owner and home owner, in those places I set the rules (I personally don't care if you carry), you don't like my rules... get the f out and don't let the door hit you in the a**. Its that golden rule thingee they taught you in kindergarten. Just because you/ I have a LTC does not give us cause to disrespect. I know what some are thinking, pretty soon every establishment will have policies that will preclude from doing much of anything while carrying... well maybe you/ we need to get off our collective butts, be politically active and give the public a positive experience / view of those who carry... not a FU I'll do what I effing want to. Just my opinion, and certainly does not reflect many of those on this site/ thread.

Some of y'all need to get down off those high horses before you fall off and hurt yourselves
The most entertaining part of this thread is all the gun people that are stereotyping/name calling/talking down to other gun people who legally carry, that want to carry or have carried somewhere that it is not against the law No weapons and firearms policies are just that. Policies. Not law. Its up to the individual permit holder to do his or her own research into what legal weight those policies carry and do as you see fit. The general consensus in all of my research is that policies and no weapons signs mean nothing. If its not deemed a restricted area by the issuing agency or State or Fed govt , I'm going to carry as I see fit. Clackamas Town Center has a no firearms policy. Two people a few months back ignored it there too. |

2-Not unless you refuse to leave (if you are allowed to leave by Anaheim PD) 3- Possibly- Depends on the officers mood, your attitude, etc. 4- Again possibly. More likely if you have an attitude and say something like screw your policy, I can & will carry 5- Again possibly- although unlikely unless you do what I said in #4 (even then it usually only applies to you) Again its really not worth it. I thought that maybe things had changed a bit since I worked there (20+ years ago) but from the e-mail posted above I see that it hasnt..... The lockers that people are alluding to were put in for LEO's if they had to enter the park in a non emergency situation. They did not want them carrying in view of the guests. Best thing is to not do it. Could you get away with it? Sure, just as someone who doesnt have an LTC can get away with carrying for years (sometimes their entire lives) but its up to you to decide if its worth the risk.... Only piece of advice I can offer if you do decide to do it is be careful, and if you happen to get caught, cooperate, be polite and apologetic, tell them you did not know the policy. Also remember that carrying there is not like carrying at the mall or a grocery store etc that has a "no firearms" policy.... You will (most likely anyway) be inside Disneyland for 8-12 hours (or more), you will be getting on and off rides, etc, etc..... Plenty of opportunities for even the most well concealed gun to show even if its for a quick glance. All employees there (again speaking from my time as an employee) are trained to look for weapons. Believe it or not the guys who walk around sweeping up (I did that for 1.5 years of my 3.5 year employment) are given even more training to look out for anything unusual because lets face it, like most janitors, they are invisible unless needed and also they walk around the park more than anyone else. I can only imagine this training that they get has gotten more intense after 9/11...... Last edited by OceanDreamer; 04-20-2013 at 11:40 AM.. |

My son in law is an FBI special agent and was spotted last weekend by DL security. He showed his creds but the said he would have to leave or put the weapon in a locker that they provided. He did and enjoyed the day. They returned his weapon when he left.

I really dont understand the issue with CC inside of Disneyland.
they obviously do not want you to carry if you cannot be without your weapon, don't go. this isnt a matter of rights it's a matter of choice. |

My gawd, if you don't feel confident in your ability to evaluate the situation and NOT use your friggin' gun just because it's on your hip when something goes down, then don't ever carry! I went to Disneyland with my family a year ago. I carried all 3 days we were there, both parks, as I do everywhere I am legally permitted. I walked right through the front gates with it, probably a dozen times in all, and concealed it with some cargo shorts and a t-shirt the whole time. I never even saw a "No Guns" sign. I looked for one without going too far out of my way. I didn't check their website or call ahead, why should I? If your neighbor sees you washing your car and invites you over for ribs, do you say, "That sounds good! Would you like me to take my gun off and put it in my safe?" You know what else I didn't see while I was there? Many cops. There were two Anaheim PD just outside the parks on Friday, none on Saturday, and one, in his car, on Sunday. Inside the park, over ALL 3 DAYS, I saw 2 unarmed security guards, and ONE armed guard with a bomb dog (which didn't alert at the smell of my 9mm). That it! That's all the LEOs I saw while we were there. |

As you can see from reading all the posts to this thread there are those that have strong opinions, and it is a fare and a polarized view of the public here in CA. As to Disney properties, there are several maybe hundred or so undercover helpers about the park at all times to diffuse issues as fast as possible. That is what makes it a safe place. Lots of food services help keep the grouchy bears in check as well. As for LTC/CCW, some call it a right others a privilege. You know the Fact is that there are laws and statutes covering how where and when a person can CC. Yes, only if a person gets caught could these laws and statutes com into play. That is the old-school view of how to express freedom in the USA, i.e. do as you will until confronted. The progressive movement fostered in Public school and on mass media is you have few rights, and restricted privileges - if it isn't for the good off the whole then it is bad, and obeying the whims of politicians and crowd is the proper way. Every sleeping moment, every waking moment a person is ultimately vulnerable to attack. Safety is a posh cover word to mollify the masses. Nevertheless, the bottom line is up to the individual to decide; can you pay the fine and do the time if caught? Everyone must decide for themselves. Having information as to what is expected, rules that can be enforced, and processes to avoid loss of time money and perceived freedom are valuable. This is what can be gleaned from the CalGuns discussions. I make my decisions and others make theirs. The best decision is personal. For sure one thing is clear, everyone has an opinion and a few don't want to be told what to do. If I looked like a usual suspect, I might not carry at all, yet I balance out the options all the time every day and so far life is mixed. Injury, accident and loss of life happen. Being prepared to avoid it or having a fighting chance takes an effort that many are not wired to do. Making your choice work for you and letting the others decide for themselves - that is freedom. Welcome - and keep on posting!

To put this to rest Disneyland does not care if you have a ccw they will not hold your firearm unless you are LEO.
I stopped by today just to test this for people. Concealed means concealed.
