Talking Brady Campaign McDonald Statement

Anyone else looked at this?

http://www.bradycampaign.org/media/press/view/1226/

Quote:
Mar 2, 2010

Washington, DC – Paul Helmke, President of the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence, observed the oral argument today in the case of McDonald v. City of Chicago at the U.S. Supreme Court, and issued the following statement:

"In the two years since the Heller decision, courts throughout the country have rejected the arguments of gun criminals and the gun lobby that the Second Amendment enshrines their 'any gun, anywhere, any time' agenda.

"Today's arguments seemed to indicate a consensus around the Court's strong language in the Heller decision that reasonable restrictions on gun ownership are 'presumptively lawful.'

"Either way the Court decides the 'incorporation' issue, the Second Amendment continues to allow Americans to have the strong, common sense gun laws they want and need to help protect our communities. The Supreme Court should maintain the limitations it set out in the Heller decision and defer to the judgments of our elected officials in protecting the public from gun violence."

The disgusting truth is that Brady folk usually compensate for their apparent lack of intelligence with a super sized amount of hypocrisy- they're as likely or more than average to be armed. They just tell you to duck and cover.

Wow, they grouped the "gun criminals" and the "gun lobby" together. What a load of crap.

A wise man once told me, "Never argue with an idiot, he will bring you down to his level, then beat you with experience!"

Just smile, and walk away and let them realize that those roses that they are smelling in the bathroom hold their bloom for so long because they are made of plastic.

Isn't that libel, lumping us together DIRECTLY with criminals? At some point their stuff has got to cross the line.

Dunno. I think it'd fall more under slander (being verbal), if there is any sort of damage done to us because of this statement. But other than showing just how low the anti's are willing to go, I don't think that the statement will have any lasting effects.

Slander, libel, defamation...all of it is tort, and all of it very, VERY established as legally punishable.
