Default My first attempt at 10/22 stock refinish & modification

Several years ago I camouflaged a scratched up old 10/22. My grandkids are now old enough and using the 10/22 that I wanted to make it look nicer and shape the grip area adding finger grooves and a palm swell for righties.

Here's a before shot with the old desert camo:

After lots of sanding and shaping:

After first coat of polyurethane:

Gotta let it dry 72 hours minimum before I take the high spots down with fine grit, then I'll go at it again. I'll post more pics in a few days.
