There is a thread on M4carbine.com about these. A surefire rep on there stated that pricing should be between $150-$175.

A Surefire rep said the price on these should be south of $140. The use the same mounting system as their Socom Suppressors. There hasn't been any verification on whether these will work with multiple calibers yet.
I have one of these on my BUY list.

Blast Shield for the SF brake? or just a quick disconnect flash hider. Any additional info on this new product?

It is a means to put the blast forward. It can work with a brake or a flash hider but was designed really for the muzzle brakes. I should have them to dealers around the end of March. MSRP should be right around $150-175.

Also found this gem. From right to left this pic includes the Warcomp (equally exciting), Blast Diffuser (unofficial name) as well as the beast on the left which from what I understand will basically serve the same purpose yet give the look/feel of a full size suppressor. Only that one has no guaranteed release.. Don't take my word, just speculations mostly

Now don't get me wrong, I love Surefire products, but I just don't understand this. I'm not saying I couldn't be convinced into buying it but I just don't see a real need. Do the pros outweigh the cons? Does muzzle blast really bother people that much? I'm not against it, just wondering if there really is a need.

Pistolero805,
Try taking a cArbine class and being on the line between guys with muzzle brakes/comps, Or doing drills in close quarters with guys with them. Or try shooting in dusty conditions in the prone from your side. You'll quickly see why some courses no longer allow students to use muzzle brakes. IMHO the pros will out weigh the con in many situations. And the quick detachment setup is great if it's not needed and the weight can be taken off. |

I am the Sales and Marketing manager for the Surefire suppressor dept (Kudu22 on all the other forums)
I should have these out by end of March. I am getting the CNC cost roll up done and we est. the price between $150-$175. Black and FDE colors. The pic of it on a desk is my 10.5" LMT. I have been using it for a month now and it is just a great piece of kit to have when you are around others doing drills or a closed in space. |

what brakes does this fit? socom? what about the griffin blast shield?
they have a qd and threaded version. are there any legal issues with having external threads on a muzzle brake?
