I'm up in the San Fernando Valley.

I've been going down to shoot with the Shooting Sports Alliance group on the 1st/3rd/5th Sundays of the month. They meet at Raahauge's in Corona. It's been a great way to learn and gain more comfort with my gun handling skills. I've only been shooting since July. So believe me, newbies are quite welcome.

I'm not a lady, but if your man bought you a kimber...as a man i say that buys him at least 2 months of no complaining!!!!! as a new shooter, you probably dont realize what you're holding, but the only thing i can compare it to as the ferrari or lamborghini of the gun world (Sig Sauer is the other one). Glad to hear that you enjoy shooting....maybe you guys can come shoot with me and my wife and get her as interested as you are!!!!!!!!! ps, LOVE punk and i saw on another forum that you can get pink grips with skull and crossbones for kimbers......no idea where, or if that's your thing...just thought i'd pass along. welcome to calguns!!!!!

Megan ---

The Steel Madness matches are made up of 6 different stages with 20-24 steel targets per stage. The stage designs change for each match. You group up with 3-6 others of various skill levels. But you are only scored at the end against shooters of your level.

Take a look at this thread on their forum:
http://www.ssashooter.net/cgi-bin/ik...cgi?act=SF;f=2
The threads towards the bottom will give you an idea of what's up.

Yeah, but I bet you impress everyone on how fast you can clear your weapon!

The sound of racking the slide just makes me howl with glee

I do know that owning a kimber is like having the cream of the crop...best of the best... top of the line- hence the reason for me enjoying it so much. Ive shot several different guns and came to the conclusion that the Kimber suites me perfectly Now on to more important issues...i love punx rock and would love to get my hands on the grips you were talking about...do you remember which forum you saw them on? skull and crossbones are soo my thing and I will definitely have to hunt those down. P.s the no complaining thing for 2 months sounds like a great idea IF I were really a nag or a wet blanket...i beg to differ but I will try to keep my opinion to myself for the next 2 months after the Kimber is in my possession...lol
Also would love to get you wife as interested in guns as i am- ive only been shooting for the past 4 months but i truly do believe i have found my passion!

getting faster at it that's for sure!

last time we were at iron sights, I was working on strong hand / weak hand drills and the guy in the next lane stepped over to my hubby and said "she's a good shooter!"
now THAT's a good day!
hee hee!

and that rack does have the sound of authority doesn't it?
yeah, gotta say it's a sweet sound.

Nice links mmartin - and happy to see another girl here. Have fun shooting your Kimber! You'll find out soon that one won't be enough. You'll be wanting lots of other things that go blam really soon. which is a good thing!

Welcome to calguns. I am in San Diego. A bit futher south than Megan is.

Irish HK is a decent brand too. Although I will admit I do like Kimbers. I am considering in investing in a 1911 Kimber 45 when I can find another job.

I'm currently in the Bay Area (SF and Oakland mostly).
Kimbers are great 1911s for the money.
