Default AR15 Spur grip

Would this be California legal for featureless rifles?
I just bought a .308 CMMG lower that I'll probably make into a featureless build. I like this grip with the fixed stock. I just don't know if Cali. legal.
Any thoughts?

there was some kind of line above the trigger nonsense that could apply to many firearms but to me it looks like a pistol grip just a really tiny pistol like a raven or deringer

Again, read the law IN DETAIL.

The line only applies to a CONSPICUOUSLY PROTRUDING pistol grip which extends BELOW THE BOTTOM OF THE ACTION.

The *thing* pictured above does not. But do yourself a favor and buy a monsterman grip- they actually fit a human hand and you can shoot with them.

nothing in the AW law or the CCR limits the type of grip to which CCR 5469(d) applies. "pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon” is a label, not a description.

Quote:
"pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon” means a grip that allows for a pistol style grasp in which the web of the trigger hand (between the thumb and index finger) can be placed below the top of the exposed portion of the trigger while firing

The way I read the law this has always been a pistol grip in California. Different states have different laws, I guess it's ok in NY.

It is crazy how everyone "references & recites" law, Saki302, but haven't even read it themselves, or they do not do their due diligence to confirm what they *think* the law is. Please confirm the law, especially when it is readily available, before missleading others. Nothing in the CCR's definition of a pistol grip mentions the "action", it mentions the top exposed portion of the trigger. Huge difference. I just to make sure Calguns remains a solid reliable source of info for others today and into the future like it has done for me in the past. Cheers

search for other discussions on this spur grip.

SUMMARY - NOT LEGAL IN CA as it still fits the definition of a pistol grip
