I got a couple of these the last time around with the black coated buckle. I wear them most days, and the paint chips off the buckle pretty easily. Still, for the money, I don't mind. If you're concerned about appearances, you might want to stick with the bare metal buckles.

Edited for clarity: Other than my concern with the black painted hardware, these belts are high quality and this deal is hot. Jump on it.

Contact CS and get it replaced. I have no problem with the black coated buckle.

Even on the LTP? It doesn't bother me, but it might bother others.

I think that the LTP refers to the leather.

LTP are under 1 year warranty, technically

https://www.hanksbelts.com/pages/100-year-warranty

However

My belt lost a screw or my buckle broke. How is that covered?

Buckles and screws are covered for breakage or failure and since these parts are easily user replaceable replacements will be sent no charge for the user to replace. If you repeatedly have screws coming loose a couple drops of clear nail polish on the threads before installing will act as a low-level loctite and prevent future loss. Cosmetics are not covered on hardware.

I posted this last year and there were a lot of people ordered including myself. I've been using the same belt I ordered almost everyday and it's been serving me well. Good quality belts for a fraction of their A+ regular priced belts.

I bought 2 last time around. Great belts. Their customer service is A++. One of the belts they sent me was the wrong size. One 2 min phone call and 2 days later I received (NEW not LTP) belt in the correct size . I will pick up a new one today. Thanks for posting.

Thanks for the update, and that's what I figured. It's not a dealbreaker, as the leather holds up incredibly well, and I'm 99% satisfied with my belts. They're tough as hell and the leather looks awesome after 2 years of frequent use.

Ordered a gunner belt for $25. Looking forward to trying it out. The price is unbeatable. After you use the belt a couple of times, it's less than perfect anyway, so who cares?

I have always buy cheap $15 belt from Marshal. I recent got a little better belt and I like it a lot more. Now that I see what Hank's belt is like....WOW!

From outside to inside: cheap $15 belt, $30 belt, Hank's, Hank's

Yeah they’re great belts. It’s not even worth buying those terrible department store belts any more.

My kids used to laugh at me when I took off my belt. Now they run in terror.

...kidding.

Question

Here's a question from a CCW noob: Do you get your regular waist size, or do you get X inches larger if you carry IWB?

It's noted on the website. 2 sizes larger for ccw, I wear 34 inch pants and got 38 inch belts. Love mine, I have 4 and have been wearing them for over two years now.

Been wanting to try one of these for awhile. Too bad they're sold out of everything remotely close to proper size. Go figure I'd just see this post now damnit!

I think they are spot on. I have the cheap belt 34" which leave a bit of tail end. I order 32" from Hank and the hole that I use i on it is about the same position. I clip my phone on the left side so nothing having the 2 extra inches is better since the leather is so thick, it wouldn't be possible. 2" extra on top of the 2" more than waist line may be good rule of thumb but if your weapon is a single stack like G43 P365 etc then you may end up with a bit of extra on the tail end.

P.S. if you are a costco shopper, don't use their size as measurement. The department store 34" fits me but Costco 32" is too long.

Only order LTP so I can't say if New is different but my LTPs looks a little scruff. Not too bad.

I have a few LTP belts. Some of them look absolutely brand new, while others have some imperfections, which are really hard to see under the normal circumstances.

Now that I had a little free time I compared this belt to one that I bought at Boot Barn 10 years ago. I'm sure the BB belt will easily last another 10 years. These blemished Hanks Belts have a 100 year warranty.

So 40.00 at BB and 25.00 delivered from HBs, its a no brainer.

Just bought a 5.11 leather casual belt but can always use another good belt so a Hanks Belt is not on the way. Thanks OP!
