Default Coast healamps under $20

These two are my favorite because they are so very light and comfortable. Taking 2 AAA (where it says AA, that is wrong, they both take only AA batteries, 2 batts.).
Like all Coast the head doesn't flop up and down easily, stays put. And the band is long life good quality.
I prefer not having the center strap too.
One model lasts longer. The other model is brighter.

They cycle up and down in price over time from $15 to $20.
I don't worry about batt life. A pocket full of pairs of AAA weighs nothing.

I wouldn't use a rechargeable headlamp if they were giving them away free. A separate recharger for batteries (you don't have to remove the lamp during recharging) is in my opinion infinitely easier.

The other (higher priced) Coast headlamps have their uses, I prefer these because they are way more comfortable. I forget I have them on my head all the time.

I've been using this to work on my car in the garage at night, or working on my back in a crawl space.

While it looks a bit jenky, the wide disbursement of light really makes it easy to see everything around your work area.

Plus it's only $14 shipped (I picked it up when it was $11.99 awhile back), and it also takes AAA batteries.

I use the coast from Costco. They have an adjustable beam and single led. The led can be red or white with 3 different brightness settings. Good product and head band acts as a sweat band while hiking.
