Tanaka and Carey indicted
"Eyewitness News has learned that former Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Undersheriff Paul Tanaka and former Captain Tom Carey have been indicted on obstruction of justice charges in connection with the scandal that rocked the department in 2013."

I'd trade Carey for Baca anytime. I worked with Carey at Lakewood back in the early 80's. He was a good cop back then. Haven't seen or talked to him in years, so I don't know what happened.
Baca is a POS that ruined a great Department. He needs to go down too. LASD Retired, and proud of it.

Baca is a POS that ruined a great Department. He needs to go down Baca was an absentee Sheriff. Us in the LASD for the past ten to fifteen years know who was really running the show, Tanaka. We all know what he really ment by enouraging deputies to work the grey. All the convicted/indicted enjoyed dropping tanaka's name as an authority badge. Now that in and of itself doesn't make them guilty, but they all knew to a certain degree what they were doing was illegal. The supervisors involved deffinately knew what they were doing was illegal. Its going to take years to clean up LASD. Sheriff McDonnell is on the right track. This will not be a quick fix.
