Any members here in the LAPD?
Reason I ask is that I am currently going through the process with them. I was told to try and schedule a ride-along, I know it will probably be with a SGT., but if anyone here can help me out I would greatly appreciate it.

Figure out which division you want to ride with.
Go to the front desk of the division, advise the officer that you are in the process with the Department, and ask to fill out the ride-along request and waiver. This is best done on Mon-Fri 7 AM - 4 PM as the waiver is sometimes done with staff from the Area Office. Wait for a call-back. Ride-alongs are hit-and-miss. Some shifts are full of activity while others are quiet. You can't make it rain. Good luck to you.

I know, BUT the lady that was helping us told us that process can take long and you might need to make quite a few phone calls, which I don't mind. But she did say that if we had family, friend, acquaintance, that she would highly recommend that route.
