Default Vehicle Carry Conundrum

I cannot find a decent system for storing a concealed weapon in the car that allows instant access and lockability for when I'm out of the car/truck. Seems like a Catch 22. Is there a better option than http://www.consolevault.com/vehicle-vaults?

I haven't found one (assuming Console Vault fits your weapon). It's bolted into the vehicle, relatively secure and easily accessible for you. Seems pretty well made too. I think it's a far better option than cable locking a lock box to your seat frame.

No, and you can use this safe for anything. But CCW permit holders have greater latitude with how they can travel with firearms than noneholders.

No, but a handgun must be unloaded and not in the same locked compartment as the ammo.

Wrong, ammo does not need to be separate
Correct as to unloaded

Wish someone made a pop-up lockbox that ejected the pistol instantly. If it fit in the gap next to your seat that would be great...unless you're a lefty.

i can not get my hand between the drivers seat and the center seat. the gap is way too small. so no way is a "lock" box going to fit there.

I know this is a bit older thread. But I am too running into trying to find a decent storage for when I have to leave my firearm. I have a son in high school and have games to attend. I hate leaving the firearm in the vehicle but am required to. I do have a gun-vault NV100, but am looking for another option since I saw that the locks are easily bypassed. Any help or recommendations appreciated.

I have a Lock'er Down Console Vault and love it for all my valuables. Well made and easy to install and operate.
