Looks like an awful lot of work to avoid a bullet button.

I've seen those before. Apparantly that is supposed to be a thumb rest or thumb stop of some sort.

AK bullet buttons aren't really a button - they are a total PITA. Featureless is worth it.

What's so hard about screwing kydex to a grip?
If shtf he can just unscrew the kydex and be ready to go.

Negative.
First of all, maglock devices on AK's suck and magazines cannot be changed quickly like an AR can with a UBBT equipped magazine. Second of all, the big advantage is to enable the use of all those old commie surplus 30 rd AK mags one might have in their garage. Third, the AK can be made featureless in 30 seconds with a grip sleeve and that is all you need. AR's require pinned stocks, muzzle brakes, removal of the bullet button, etc. If you are stuck behind PRK lines, then featureless is the only way to fly. |

If you only shoot with your left hand you placed the Kydex in the right place. Cutting a slot in the middle and then epoxying the fin in gives you a small area to rest your palm.

It looks like you're "featureless" from the photos, but what do you mean by "compliant?" If you mean "922(r) compliant," I can't tell by looking at the photos. What original parts did you replace with USA-made ones?

I was just referring to the fin mostly, as in is it "enough" fin. It has the US made stock, FCG, trigger guard, muzzle brake, etc. I used the 922r calculator, its compliant.
Every pic i have seen of featureless grips had the fin like I had, even on rightys. Oh well, its still comfortable. Noting i cant fix/experiment with later. Tank, why a pistol grip? Every try and shoot an AK with a normal FCG without using the grip? Youll get your hand smacked with the bolt handle. |

How so? With the thumb stop, this set up allows him to wrap the rest of his wrist creating some sort of grip. At least that is how I perceive it

I didn't know. I was sort of afraid to ask, so I'm glad you explained it. I've only recently become interested in AKs.

Featureless guns usually are ugly IMO, but who cares? I cant see it when Im shooting. What I can see are my pre-bans dropping freely.

That setup looks very appealing to me. It is pretty much common knowledge if you watched all of the idiot antis during this election cycle that the AK is is the most evil rifle man has ever created and will definitely be in their sites for banning as soon as possible. I am buying either a Saiga and converting or an AK as soon as possible.

No kiddin, seems they are uninformed that very few people own an "AK47", they are NFA tax stamp folks with $10000+ rifles...
A Saiga is a Saiga, a WASR is an AK "VARIANT"... No AK47 here occifer |

Here's my shtf featureless Saiga 240 AK74. Like the long sight radius from the Tech Sights. That's the Solar tactical kydex grip wrap for the wide Hogue pistol grip.
