Default Santa Margarita Gun Club in final stage of lease renewal

Just got an email

Guys,

John Hermsen received news today that our lease renewal application has been signed by Marine Corps Installation Command and forwarded to Naval Facilities Command. Hopefully he will have paperwork to sign in the next 2-3 weeks.

As soon as John sees the contract I'll let everyone know. Assuming we get this executed by the end of April...... I will submit a Range Request for the first or 2nd weekend in May at R117. I assume this will also lead to a NRA Mid-Range Regional before Memorial day.

Once we have the lease signed we will ask for a review of the caliber restrictions. I expect that to go in during the summer.

Mike Jones

Update.
Seems the Club is in a holding pattern pending and agreement on fees and clarification of lease terms.
We are now optimisticly looking at late July early August.
So we wait patiently,
That said once things do get back up to speed there is a high desire within the Club board of directors to push for PRS matches, and the possibility of hosting three gun events. This in conjunction with the current core CMP matches, NRA high power MR/LR and F Class. The club is looking forward to a very positive start

Thanks for the update. I was bummed to get the e-mail informing the cancellation of the upcoming Police/Fire Games Rifle matches due to range scheduling conflicts.

Looking forward to the club getting back on track.
