Made it through backgrounds. Now on to a captains interview. Tips?
Background is done and now I'm waiting to hear from the captain to schedule a "hiring interview" . I'm doing my research on the department, but any and all tips are appreciated.

Be yourself. Give honest answers.
It will remind you of the oral board in a way. And think of a meaningful question to ask of them at the end. There was another thread regarding this exact topic within the last few weeks. Other good advise in there as well. Edit: here you go http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...d.php?t=818348

With this particular sheriff department This is the only interview in the process ( I believe). The process so far has been POST test, polygraph, background investigation, captains interview, then hopefully psych and med if I make it through. I'll definitely look through the other thread, thank you.

Oh that's a little different then.
Possibly some situational questions, regarding how you would handle interactions. Also what you have done to prepare, what you can offer their department. Standard interview questions really. Just make sure to try and relax. Definitely research the department in depth. Know who the Sheriff is, and even check out their presence on youtube etc.

Absolutely. This S.O. is a Very community oriented department. I've lived in the county my entire life. I've also been working hand and hand with a lot of LEO's as I've been an EMT for a few years here working the primary 911 system. All I can do is prepare, if it doesn't work out I'm enrolled in an academy starting in January.
