I did mine at WTS and they were great people to work with. Great class had a great time and learned a lot. They took the time to explain things in a layman terms and if you had questions they were answered. A big + for WTS. It was realy painless.

I missed you there Dutchman, I left right after the class ended at 1:00. Everything you said about WTS is right on. I liked that it was a fast paced class that didn't break down into endless side discussions. They stayed focused and zipped us right through.

No, directly through Valley Defense. Class was at the Oakdale Police range out by the animal control facility.

Another +1. I was the wanker that showed up a bit late.

I mailed off my application to the SCSD today. Maybe by next June I'll have a CCW!

Update 1-3-11: I'm trying to get an appointment for my interview but the gal who does it appears to be really buried in work. I guess patience is the operative mode here.

Update 1-4-11: Appt. set for Wednsday the 19th.

Turned in my application 12-13, had my interview this morning on the phone.
It went well, but he isn't the one who makes the decision.
Can only wait now.

I turned in my app today and did the live scan and photo. Will see what happens. Connie said that it could take up to 90 days to get approved. She also said that i could get a phone call or a visit for a interview. Hope it don't take to long. How long has it taken for most to get approved?

I took mine through Madison Society; however, when I called the Sheriff's office to make my appointment, Connie told me that I had to apply at Turlock PD first. If I was denied then I could apply through the Sheriff. That was the new policy. Where in the PC does it say I must do that? I did not see that referenced in the policy either (Salute vs Pitchess). Guess we are just special in Turlock.

Thanks for the referral, Librarian and G17GUY. We *definitely* need to know of all denials/refusals in Stanislaus.

Yep, got my call about 15 minutes ago.

Called for appoint to turn in application on 12-3-10
Turned in application 12-20-10
Phone interview with officer 1-3-11
Called stating approval 2-14-11

Good cause: Personal protection/business owner.

Also keep in mind there were 2 holidays in that time period as well.

Now trying to get one of my employees to apply.

Also should add that I do have an arrest record from approx 20 years ago for driving related offenses, and did visit the crossbar hotel about a half dozen times due to DUI, driving on suspended and failure to appear charges.

I was in my early 20s at the time, and now a 41 year old business owner.

Looks like the turn around time is good. I have my appt to turn my application 1/26.

FYI I was told by Connie to make sure and use the "new application", which is on their web site. I don't see any differences except the old one has BCIA 4012 (6/99) on the 1st page and the "new one" has FD 4012 (06/02) on it, but it could give them a reason to reject and have to resubmit.

INJUNTOM, congrats and thank you for getting your employees to apply. For Christmas I gave all my employees a certificate good for training and the CCW on my dime, if they choose to use it.

And please, everyone else in Stan county get down and apply!!!!!!!!!

You need to look into that ThiZZ, there's a thing going on with that county. You can't apply for a StanCo. CCW.

Quote:
So here is the request: CGF needs CCW applications in Merced County, they need 100 applicants, 100 Calgunners that live in Merced County. Are you one? Do you know someone that you can reach out to? Below is the link to all the information and what CGF needs:

It's a totally different environment now cltitus then it was in 2009. So NOW is the time to apply with nothing more then "self defense outside of my home" as the only GC you need. I personally know 4 people who received their CCW with just that. Plus 3 of my employees are going thru the process right now with only self defense as the GC.

As I sated in a earlier post this is about supply and demand, to keep our sheriff (AC) in office he needs to supply the population with what we want and the more demand for CCW's that he sees the more apt he is going to be to continue to be a shall issue sheriff and hopefully other sheriffs in other county's will see sheriff AC's CCW policy as a good way to keep them in office in a time of short life cycles for politicians. Sheriffs may have a badge and a gun but in their hearts they are politicians, we cant forget that........they need votes........did you vote in the last election??????????

Stanislaus's policy is highly flawed, although that they accept self-defense is a good start to reform efforts.

I got the call I have been waiting for. My permit is ready to pick up. I was in Concord all day and will go in first thing in the morning. What a relief !!!!
I called my voice mail a couple of times to make shure I was hearing it right.
I called Friday because I wanted to add another gun that I had just got out of jail. When I call Connie told me that it would not be a problem. I then asked how my case was comming and she told me that I was almost finished.
With all of the things going on with the kidnapping of the little boy that they found in the Deltamendota canal I figured that would delay my case I may be wrong. Any way I am glad that it got approved. All i had to do is go where i applied and tell them that i am there to get my permit and pay another $80.00.and i will be good to go.
