Default Competing with Commercial M1 Carbines

Since the USGI M1 carbines are getting very pricey these days*, is there any consideration about allowing USGI-equivalent (no match grade barrels or triggers) commercial M1 carbines?

By that, I mean can a shooter compete for score with an M1 carbine built by Fulton Armory, Auto Ordnance (Kahr), new Inland, etc.?

*Or maybe I'm just having bad luck at finding a good deal on a USGI M1 carbine?

Wow !!! $600, that’s a good deal. You must have bought from an old woman who’s husband had recently died.

Local gun store. It was a good deal but you can very easily find them in the $800 range

Gunbroker m1s usually sells around $800 for a penny no reserve auction. Then you got all the shipping and other fees.

CMP Games Rule "5.1.2 k" states "Carbines made by any other manufacturer or a commercial Carbine of the same type and caliber may be used if permitted by the match program or if a separate category is provided for these Carbines."
....Check with the match director for the venues that you plan to shoot.
