i might sell one of ours too. i'm not a heavy user of a tablet as i'm finding out. and it's not like it's my primary device. still not sure myself so trying to play with android right now.

--------------------------------------------------------

anyone else here running android on their touchpads? i'm running Cyanogenmod alpha3. android market can't seem to recognize the device so if i try to install an app, it'll try to send it to my android phone (samsung dart) instead. weird.

alpha3 build seems to be OK so far but i'm not familiar with the android OS. on the phone (froyo I think), seems OK and simple. but on the tablet, seems a little different.

CM7 is based on gingerbread, which if I remember correctly is setup for phones and not tablets, honeycomb was setup for tablets but google did not release it open source. The next android OS upgrade is ice cream sandwich(ICS) which works for tablets and phones. They are currently working on CM9(which is based on (ICS). The other good point about these tablets is webOS is being released open source so people can develop it, similar to what Cyanogenmod does.

still, calguns renders nicely compared to the webos browser though in GB 2.3.7.

You need to flash gapps-gb in clockwork recovery, reboot, sign in to google, then reboot into clockwork, flash Flemmard. Then you can get all the apps you want including maps etc..

One thing, logmein doesnt work. Doesnt matter to me though, ICS will fix that, and I am also getting the asus prime anyway, these are going away as xmas presents.

All I can say about the touchpad with android on it, its basically a $350-$400 android tablet for $100, I dont know how you can go wrong if you get one of these things for cheap, I am SUPER impressed. Even with WebOS it wasnt bad.

IT IS ANDROID, it will mature as fast as the devs want it too. ICS Android for Touchpad will be out soon, most likely as soon or shortly after the prime gets the update for it. The devs have really done a pretty god job with the touchpad.

touchpad = android right now for me. hehe i think there'll be more out in the near future. i was disappointed that it's a refurb for $99 when the news back then were $99. i bought mine for the sole purpose of having a $99 android. still not sure where webos will go and if it'll get more support. but calguns renders better here on android.

thanks acheron800! i was looking at the thread (rootzwiki) vs. the announcement (cyanogen). i don't recall the gapps download on the alpha3 thread in rootzwiki. but it was on the cyanogen thread. so i just got it installed now.

you're right though. webos wasn't bad either for $99.

In all honesty, out of pure speculation, I dont believe these are refurbs, I just think they dont want to honor a one year warranty, and by saying it is a refurb only give a 90 day warranty.

Also very weird that mine came from 2 different locations, so maybe some are refurb, and some are new in a refurb box.

One is mesquite TX, and the other I think was either bay area or los angeles. Cant remember and now I cant see the tracking history, but I got 2 today and will get the 3rd on thursday.

Got the tablet, loving it with webOS. I plan on waiting for ICS before putting android on it, running perfectly, at 1.5ghz.

For those who got a Touchpad a forum with lots of helpful tips and programs

are you running uberkernel? I could quite get phantom and f15c to work so I went to ubberkernel. Also did those other preware stuff like recommded patches. She's pretty fast now w/o a huge battery drain. But govnah only shows both at 1.5ghz if I'm doing more than just browsing,i.e. Running pandora

did you get to make preare.is.awesome.com to work? Couldn't get that feed to work andunsure purpose of it.

I also unstalled ginberbread and will try again with ics.

Sorry I missed this post. Yep uberkernel, it's on demand 1.5 so it will not be running full speed when it does not need to. I have not heard about the awesome feed I will look into it.

I just installed ICS, going to be playing with it now.
