Default Selling an AR Lower I Machined Myself

I've been looking into buying some 80% lowers from a friend to finish the machining myself.

I've been thinking about building out the completed lowers and attaching them to several uppers I've built. But since they have no serial number and I am not an FFL, can I legall sell these?

If your milling them yourself, why not pay someone $35 beforehand to engrave a serial, city milled, caliber, and then your legal if and when you sell them. -g

You're not allowed to manufacture the 80%'s with the intent of selling them, without getting your FFL 07. They are meant to be for your personal use.

That's not to say you can't sell them someday, but if you're pumping out lowers for sale, someone may take note.

OP, if you do complete one or more 80% AR lowers for your personal use, and at some time in the future decide to sell them, you must mark them in the same manner required of a licensed manufacturer (your name, the location manufactured, and a serial number in letters/numbers of the required size and depth into the receiver material). You would be wise to complete the CA DOJ Voluntary Registration form. The receivers may then be sold to another person in the same manner as a receiver manufactured by a Federal licensee.

Eric B is on point, don't finish an 80% with the intent to sell it.

Vader is a great option. Be sure it's still 80% if you mail it.
He did a few for me.
