Need Help! Want your opinion on which sight I should go with
Hi Everyone
I ordered a new LWRC M6A2 SPR and will be picking it up soon. My question to you all is which sight I should go with. Just so you know I will be using the sight primarily for home defense as well as occasionally indoor and outdoor shooting. Any feedback is much appreciated. 1st choice: Aimpoint PRO 2nd choice: Aimpoint Comp M4 3rd choice: Eotech XPS2-0 |

Of those choices... being that you can afford an LWRC SPR, i say get the CompM4... but i'd get the CompM4s with the battery compartment on the bottom. If you want to lighten the weight down, get an Aimpoint T1.

All I can say is Google those for opinions/pros/cons...I just did the same for a week straight, lol. There are a lot of websites out there with tons of insight from users. YouTube also, many videos and comparisons. I'm far, far from an expert, but that's how I chose mine.
I finally chose and went with an Eotech XPS2-0. With my new AR, a flat top with no sights yet, I didn't want the extra height of the EXPS2-0 (that comes with a quick detach bottom mount). Also, since I will go with folding BUIS that won't be "up" 99% of the time, I didn't need the 1/3 co-witness with an optic that the higher EXPS2 provides. I am not really concerned with battery life, so the incredible 5+ years of continuous ON battery life that an Aimpoint gives was not a factor, for me. I have another gun I use for initial home defense, so the AR most likely will not be a primary HD weapon that needs an optic ON all the time. I have had tube-type optics before and I wanted something different, like an Eotech. I prefer the cosmetics of it also, including the big window and extra clear glass. The Eotech also gives me a feeling of faster acquisition in close quarters from 10-75 yds. It's kind of 50:50 out there, both camps have serious followings. I believe in serious duty use, the military tends to go Aimpoint while law enforcement tend to go Eotech. ** |

You have two aimpoints versus one eotech. Got a really nice LWRC, dont get an aimpoint PRO. Get the aimpoint m4s, lower battery compartment like another reply said.
Go to your LGS and check out an aimpoint and eotech. I personally went with PRO, i like the single dot more than the reticle on an eotech. Sold my eotech 517 and got the aimpoint PRO. I like the design of the eotech, but its about functionality for me, and aimpoint wins in several categories for me. Its a huge battle between the two. |

If you're in that price range and are concerned about weight, the H1/T1 is a better option than the M4. I ditched my M4 a year ago for an H1 and have not looked back.

I got the aimpoint PRO but since OP got a LWRC i would rather see a M4(S) instead of PRO for his rifle. I wish i could afford a M4S

I go for EOTech, I like it for faster target acquisition, esp in CQB longer eye relief, easy with both eyes open so that wider/viewing field. You wont keep the battery ON forever until it dry, I DONT CARE with longer battery life of aimpoint, you can buy LWRCI, I pretty sure you can afford to change the battery every 1st of January heheheheheh and have a extra new battery on cheek weld/stock battery compartment. I would get a Magnifier too if you need to longer shoot outside an CQB
I put ACOG on my LWRCI M6A3 Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD Last edited by Tripeaks69; 06-02-2013 at 8:42 PM.. |

While I understand the replies that have to do with faster target acquisition of the Eotech, and I agree it is a touch faster. I think the Eotech reticle is untouchable. It depends on your purpose. For range use Eotech for sure. If my life depended on it, Aimpoint M4 or T1/H1.
