Mailed my application on 10/26/17, AZ non-resident permit was issued 11/21/2017 and I received 11/25/2017 (Thanksgiving holiday, and I live in Southern California). This will look nice in my wallet next to my CA CCW permit

You can check with any of the local police departments or sheriffs office.

If you happen to be heading up to the Thousand Oaks area, I can roll them. Most, if not all, places that do live scans can do them for you too. Many LEAs, mail boxes etc. type places, notaries, UPS stores, etc. offer fingerprinting. Google is your friend but, call around, prices vary widely.

Thanks for the offer. Question on this - does whomever roll the prints, say at the UPS store, do they need to be DOJ Certified?

For AZ, no. My FL application required it to be done by a LEA though...

YES! ANYONE who rolls prints/live scans in CA has to be certified or exempt. A LEO is ONLY exempt when doing it in an official capacity. If a LEO does prints outside his/her official scope of employment, he/she needs to be personally certified by CA.

It doesn't make a difference what the reason for being fingerprinted is. In CA, you either need to be certified to roll prints or exempt for some reason. Now, anyone could go to NV and roll their own prints for AZ but, it would be illegal to do that in CA.

Mailed out my packet on 11-2.
Received 12-1 Incomplete. The witness missed the date in the finger cards and so did I. Need to write date and send it back. Grrrr

Make sure the date is written when finger print cards are done.

Does Arizona accept any POST firearms training certificates? i.e. basic police academy certificate or firearms training certs?

Needs to be something available to the general public (or your DD214.)

Basic NRA hunter safety or handgun class works. Doesn't need to include live fire.

One was a public course i took 10 years ago. It was the PC 832 firearms training. Or does the cert have to be current? Thanks for the quick reply.

When I first contacted AZ (beginning of 2017) I told them I had a POST Reserve Police Academy Cert from 1986 and and expired (2011) exposed firearm permit from BSIS.

They told me either would work for proof of training.

Hope this helps.

Awesome thank you for the reply. I use my pc832 firearms cert as my fsc and is always accepted. It doesn’t have an expiration date on it so i hope it will pass. Will be hitting up UPS for fingerprint services.

If you're going to be close to Thousand Oaks anytime soon, I roll the two cards required by AZ for a total of $25.

Try your local LEA. If they do it, they will be the cheapest. Otherwise, google local places and check prices.
