Posting this thread up now since I know a lot of the usual crowd is planning on attending this shoot.

What are you planning on bringing?

Also there was still runoff water going across the riverbed on the entrance to the range. Was able to cross in a CRV last Saturday, but might be a bit hairy for those with low-riding vehicles. I can only assume two weeks from now the situation will be similar as last month.

I'll be there with some new toys

They have a range report (including the water/riverbed situation) on their website, always a good idea to check before going:

Here is the range location/directions for those that need it

Do non members like me need to make arrangements or reservations in advance? The website says membership is not required for weekend events.

You need to be signed in under a member, who only has two slots open. It's not recommended to bring a large group if you don't have the necessary sign-ins available.

Thanks! How does the spade grip feel in a semi? I would expect the thumbs to get tired rapidly.

I'm not going be able to make it out for the Dec shoot. I have a Christmas party that day that starts at noon. See you guys in January.

James, hopefully you can get the Maxim up and running. Those are so much fun to shoot.

81turbota (James) and I (Phillip) are organizing a little Axis vs Allies competition this Sunday. It's a very simple and fun shoot, everyone is welcome to join!

The rules are:

Each side will have a painted steel target to shoot at 100 yards. Everyone gets 5 shots, 3 from a bench and 2 standing. The group with the most hits wins

I will be supervising/recording the Allied side, James will do Axis. The winning side gets bragging rights

Please post if you're interested in joining, mention a side and which firearm you'd like to use and I'll update the list. If you don't have a chance to post you're more than welcome to join us Sunday.

We'll start the competition at 10:00am, going down the list one by one. Please find one of us Sunday morning by ~9:30 to get on the list. If you don't have a rifle to use I'll have a couple of extras (Mosin, Enfield, Mauser, Arisaka). Find me and you're more than welcome to use them for the competition

So far we have:

Axis:

81turbota - Arisaka Type 99
Vityaz - Mauser K98
Devilslock84 - Mauser
Saki302 - Finn M28/76
Jimja - CZ24 Mauser

Allies:

Gregory - Mosin 91/30
Paul - M1 Garand
Syntax Error - Enfield No. 4 Mk. II
Ucladude101 - Remington 1903a3
Black Majik - M1 Carbine
Vprwv - Mosin 91/30

With a nice, accurate rifle like a K31 you should be on the Allied team

Liberty rules is showing up with the MG34? Challenge accepted.

Put my Maxim 1910 down on the allied side, just need someone to shoot it One crew served belt fed per side is a nice touch.

Is anyone planning on bringing any 7.7 Jap ammo? Picked up a Type 99 recently that I'd like to put a few rounds through on Sunday.

Yes, I am bringing my T99 with at least 100 rounds of ammo. You're more than welcome to have some.

Unfortunately no mg34 this shoot, but we'll have a Maxim!

Just made the last update, we have 11 people confirmed for the Axis vs Allies shoot tomorrow. It's not too late to join, find me tomorrow before 10am and I'll make sure you have a chance to shoot

Creek looks to be passable by all cars (according to the WEGC site)

See you guys in the morning!

Anyone have a MAS to surrender as soon as the competition starts?

Just a heads up, I live pretty close to the range and it is still pretty windy. 20-25 MPH winds gusts will probably be 10-15 mph faster.. I may go out there just long enough to renew my membership too.
