Question Civilian impersonaiting police with car? (pics)

Per second hand information, this is a privately owned and collected police vehicle that's been in private status for awhile. There are no department markings, a current CA Exempt plate and an "Out of Service" magnet in the back of the vehicle. If the unit is a "movie car", it should not have Exempt plates and be labeled on both sides as "movie car" and the contact says its being used as a daily driver and no one has addressed it yet. Any feed back? Thank you

I saw once a Nevada Highway Patrol pull over a car like that just pass the state line a few years ago. I wondered what it was about.

If you feel like the person driving this is attempting to impersonate a police officer, you should report it to your local police department, not Calguns.

Kind of difficult to "start the ball rolling" when you don't tell anyone where it is? Exempt plates will come back to the city, so I'm not sure how anyone would be able to figure out where the hell this is.

I don't really see any major crime here. A couple of fix it tickets maybe, but since we have no idea what the story on this or where that plate belongs. Not much can be done here. Maybe call the local PD as has already been mentioned.

ETA that's a pretty clean looking Crown Vic, haven't seen one looking that nice in a long time. Even the interior isn't beat to hell.

Car comes back registered to Adam D. Twelve out of the City of Los Angeles. Hope it helps you.

Are you being serious?!?

Call your local PD and don’t post on CG.

No LE will legitimately run this vehicle.

We are being punked right now right? Ashton where are you?

The "E" plates are a problem... possibly stolen from a public works vehicle.
Other than the plates, no way of knowing if the light bar is red/blue or if it is amber. If it's amber, then there is no other violation in simply driving that car.
If he light someone up to attempt to pull them over, or to influence their driving? Sure... that's impersonation.

It probably belongs to a local rent-a-cop. Security guard with a hall monitor mentality.

If it really bothers you, report it to the local PD, but focus on the E-plates on a vehicle driven by a private party.

Isn't that the State Capital Chief's car?

He refused to replace it with a newer one because frankly there was nothing wrong with it and since it is used primarily for Admin he kept the badges off the doors so it wouldn't be confused for a traffic unit.

Option 2

1. Affirm.

2. Less a tinder date; more probably a mail order bride from what I understand (probably some Buffalo Bill action)

3. See above.

4. See above.

From what I was told, he resigned from CDCR. Probably resigned pending termination.

I think I saw something in an OT thread; apparently the OP was a "repeat offender" for creating new accounts after being previously banned.

Previously banned member... MULTIPLE multiple accounts, all banned. He comes in and plays nice for a few weeks, then someone triggers him and he goes off. Unstable person.

When I worked in Nevada my beacon light was required to be covered. Could have been pulled over for that. There was a commercial enforcement officer that hung out in Verdi and would pull us over regularly if we didn't have a cover on.

edit: Quick review shows a permit is required for emergency lighting in Nevada

Sad thing about this story is the guy impersonating as a Sac Sheriff was actually a CA LEO himself with CDCR

People like that are a shame to the badge...Pathetic.

It is not illegal to drive a black car with white doors. Dumbass coworker bought a police trade in- told him he’s looking to get shot at in the wrong hood

Yeah, I read the article and saw that he stopped working there after 9 years. I thought that, if he doesn't work there anymore, he was probably up to no good and got fired.
