Talking short barrel SG, cut shells, zombie target practice

Last Friday nite, went out to the property with some cousins, brought my short barrelled pump SG, a hand full of cut bird shot shells, and a make shift zombie target fashioned from an old sign that I found years ago. We all shot from over 100 yards, including 5.56, 30-06 rifles, and also a 9mm G19. We got some good hits in...and I was especially excited about the cut shell hits!

SG/High Standard Flight King:

If you've got pix of obscure things that you've shot your SGs at, please also add/share....

Cheers!

Nice. Sounds like a good time! Wish I had a remote place to shoot out here.

What do you mean by "cut shells?"

Sweet. Was it the first time you tried cut shells? And did you cut the shells yourself?

Default it was only my second time cutting shells

I had tried it before, about a month ago for the first time...had cut and shot about a box of bird shot with my swiss army knife at the same distance. Shot off hand, with the short barrel - no rifling, and I found that it shot pretty straight, but high. So, at 100 yards I had my bead below the "zombie's nether regions" to land the chest and head shots.

If you try it, you'll have a blast, just be sure to load and shoot single shot style.

Cheers.

I love shooting cut shells. The price of birdshot, but they hit like slugs!

Glad you guys had fun!

Cool what I am referring to as my "short barrel SG"

is a High Standard Flight King pump 12 gauge from ~ 1970, and the barrel was cut down to 18"....

Cheers....and Happy Labor Day Weekend!
