Default Optic Mounts for Yugo Mauser?

Are there any good ways to mount a scope onto a Yugoslavian Mauser M24/47 that's not a permanent install?

What's your definition of non-permanent install? I use a scout mount for my Mauser K98. I removed the rear sight and installed an S&K Instamount, Zee Signature rings, and a Burris LER scope. No drilling and tapping the receiver.

I went through 2-3 different scout mounts before I settled on the S&K. Cheap mounts won't hold zero from the recoil of the 8mm Mauser.

+1 For the S&K Scout Mount. I have one installed on my Yugo 24/47. If you don't already have a scope in mind, the Hi-Lux LER scope is really nice and not expensive.

I am personally not talented in gunsmithing, and had a hard time removing my 24/47 rear sight leaf. In fact, I destroyed it in the process but did not damage the base. But once it was out, installing the S&K was very easy. I bought their rings and they are also great. No D&T, and I could replace the leaf if desired, but the set up now is perfect.

That is a pretty sweet looking setup, thank you for sharing how you did it.
