A regular NRG/PRG match is 6 stages and $40/$30. Area 1 was 18 stages for $175. Why is this worth $200 for 12 stages?

I noticed the comments say "12 Stages USPSA/IPSC Style"

Will this be an official Level II USPSA event or a non-sanctioned event using USPSA rules?

^^ What these guys asked.

I'd love to go south for big match that is still in Ca but $200 for 12 stages? Is that to subsidize the prize table or to swell cash payouts for the top shooters? Honest question. Not trying to sound like a ickd as i don't care one bit about prize tables, only good, fun and challenging stages.

Says $20k+ worth of prizes....but overhead for managing 3 days of 300 shooters sounds like an expensive pita.

Reads to be like a big club match. These guys normally put on a pretty good match normally so I wouldn't think they'd disappoint. Sounds interesting and I want to see how this is going to develop in the next few months.

Heck, we just did 8 stages plus chrono at $150 in Richmond, $200 for 12 stages is a bargain.. the International Revolver Championship at Morro Bay was $200 early entry, $225-250 after a certain date.. It takes range time, range rental, and lots of other things to run a major match.. I should know, I've run the Golden Bullet 4 times in about the last 10 years. Not to mention trying to attract 50 people to Build, RO, and help out organizing things.. and also not to mention building walls, props, and everything that goes with a major match..

They will have no problem filling this match.. especially since I had at least 40-50 ppl come north to shoot the Golden Bullet, they will have no issues getting at least 50 people to travel to SoCal to attend their match.

One question that remains is if this is a sanctioned higher level USPSA match or not.

From what I understand this is not a sanctioned USPSA match. It is an "outlaw" match running the USPSA rule set.

Default Updates and Answers

First off, thank you all for your responses, opinions, questions and input. I want to apologize for not responding sooner. I can be reached directly at
shoot@westcoastbrassfest.com and will of course check back here as regularly as possible.

Facts about #WCBF2018. Everyone involved in the planning, setup, and development of this match has shot everything from a weekly club match to World Shoot and Nationals. I say this so that you are comfortable knowing that the organizers have been there, share the same concerns that you have, and have taken it all into consideration prior to launching this match.

California has the highest amount of USPSA registered shooters, registered clubs and number of monthly matches. We think we should have some great big matches as well. Golden Bullet for example is a fantastic match that steps up every year with a great program.

This match is meant to be a great time with prizes and cash being paid out for different divisions, classifications and stages. Our plan is for everyone to have a shot at some cash and to create a fantastic prize table.

As you have already seen, we have monthly prizes being given out for various tasks like liking us on Facebook and tagging #WCBF2018 with a photo of you on Instagram. This will only get better.

Stay tuned, give us a chance to produce a great match and give you something else to look forward to every year.

Feel free to email me at shoot@westcoastbrassfest.com anytime.

This is an "outlaw" match so there will not be a "classifier". All other USPSA rules will apply.

Sanctioned...Level 1, Level 2, yada yada yada. What, the bullets go faster in a sanctioned match? Shoot and Enjoy and make yourself useful. Geeze.

No offense taken.

My name is Gabe and I am part of the setup and tear down crews for SWPL, NRG, and PRG. I, of course, shoot all of those matches every week as well. If you are ever at any of those matches please feel free to ask for me. Most anyone there will be able to point me out. Come up and introduce yourself. Hopefully, this will put some of your credibility concerns to rest.

Also, as I noted in the opening post, this match is being developed and put on by a team of your fellow shooters who have reached out to the experts for knowledge and advice. Stage design and setup is being done by JoJo Vidanes and Allan Aurelio, both long-time experienced shooters, competitors and match directors of PRG and NRG. Before announcing this match, we also reached out to longtime match directors from Area 2 and abroad for their input and advice.

We are taking this match seriously and do plan for it to be something we can all participate in for many years to come.

For any other information or questions, please feel free to email me directly at shoot@westcoastbrassfest.com

If you want to stay informed regarding this match, be sure you follow us on FB and IG. Also, you can sign up on our site for our newsletter.

Thank you

Al
Inkman,

You ask the questions that we took into consideration while planning.

Everyone in every class and division will have a shot at cash prizes(must be classified at the time, minimum number in class and division will matter blah blah blah).

Everyone in every class and division will have a shot at prizes as well (see parenthesis above).

Our intention is a large prize table and multiple cash payout opportunities for everyone. Things are going very well as we continue to make this happen.

There will, of course, be prizes for overall match winners etc.

More details will follow as we get closer to registration opening.

Is multiple registrations allowed? If so, is there going to be a discount for that?

Yes thatís what I was asking. Thanks for the reply. Any idea how scheduling is going to work out? Are all stages going to shot on one day or over the spread of the weekend?

You can check the website for all the updates www.westcoastbrassfest.com, and there is an email list you can sign up for as well to stay updated.

There will be a few spots available Friday for all 12 stages. Saturday will be 6 and Sunday your remaining 6.
