Default Transferring wife's guns????

I have asked this before and never gotten a solid answer;

Can I transfer my wife's guns in California?
We are moving and selling out all guns in California prior to moving. We have 15+ and 5-6 are under my wife's name. Scheduling makes it easier for me to meet sellers to do paperwork. WE ARE MARRIED. Can I do the seller transfer to a PPT buyer? I am not paying the state to move them to my name just to turn around and sell them.

Guns have one owner, the person who filled out the DROS and 4473.

'Community property' is not clearly applicable.

File the OPLAW or run it through https://cfars.doj.ca.gov/login.do, transfer the guns to you, make everything into a nice neat package.

Consider the $19 fee as another moving expense.

I've been saying that for years ...

There is no value at all complaining or analyzing or reading tea leaves to decide what these bills really mean or actually do; any bill with a chance to pass will be bad for gun owners.

The details only count after the Governor signs the bills.

Technically, there is no Federal Registration. If there were purchased in California by your wife, they do have a DROS registration. However, the DOJ doesn't really care who a firearm is currently registered to as long as it has not been reported stolen.

While it might not be the 100% correct (or legal) thing to do, you only need a CADL to perform a PPT and a thumb print. The dealer performing the transfer will not know anything unless you tell them.
