virgin barrel
After finishing my build, while cleaning my barrel I noticed a small piece of metal shaving left over from drilling the gas port hole. Will this affect the first round out of the barrel? Tried time knock it off w the rod but didn't want time damage the rifling next I will try a brush any suggestions?

If you have a brass or carbon fiber rod, then a rod is a good option. Definitely use a brush.
I highly doubt it would destroy your barrel - but better safe than sorry.

I run a bore snake back and forth through the barrel after I drill a gas port hole.
The brush on it will normally take anything that might be an issue off. If it's really small, and the above doesn't get it I shoot it out. |
