Default Where to buy 12g shotshell hulls in bulk?

Cant seem to find anyone who carries quality hulls for a decent price, and has them in stock!

Powder Valley has $30 for 500; but not in stock and doesn't list manufacture or type.

Cabellas, Midway, etc are all sold out and usually only sell in packs of 100 anyway...

Any info is appreciated!

Precision has them, but only new and primed for $55 for 500.

Ballistic Products has a number of primed new and once fired in stock according to their website.

What kind are you looking for (AA, Win, Rem STS, Federal paper, etc)? You can usually get once fired from most shotgun ranges. Try trapshooters.com too. There is usually someone on there selling once fired hulls for reasonable prices.

I typically pick mine at the local trap range. They have dumpsters full of good hulls. Trapshooters.com is also a great place and the hulls there range fromm .03 to .05 cents depending on the brand and type of hull.

Trap shooters sounds like the place to get em. Thanks guys. Id really prefer the red AA hulls because everyone seems to think they are the best...unfortunately it always means they're sold out.

Someone is selling some STS hulls for 5 cents a piece, says he has thousands.

Are those quality hulls?

I like the STS's now because AA's went to a sperate base wad

Try these two guys:

GAMELIAL SHOOTING SUPPLIES
GRAF & SONS

Both of the above guys have good shotshell loading supplies.

As for the Remmy Premier STS hulls, they are one of the best hulls.

I use them exclusively for my Lyman 525-grain sabot slugs.

If not loaded too hot, you can get up to 12 reloads from them.

Bagel, yes the STS is a good hull and generally considered the best for reloading now that the legendary red AA uses a different base wad design. I have thousands of green and gold STS hulls but believe it or not my favorite hull for reloads are the burgundy Federal with the steel base. They are all over the ranges and always guaranteed to be new one-timers AND they have a paper base wad. They are great for one reload then let them fly. With STS hulls you can easily get 10 reloads out of them.

WOW 10-12 reloads huh?! Thanks for all the great info fellas...I guess STS is the way to go then!

Hey since were on the subject...Do you guys know where to buy slugs for cheap too?

I made the mistake of getting 4 bags of midway slugs for $21 per 25...that's almost as much as loaded slugs! Then I found out about Ballistic products, they have some for like $16 per 25...but I was wondering if anyone knows where to get them cheaper?

Im going to start casting my own soon, but with the recent investment of a press and all the goodies I needed for it, I'm going to have to wait awhile before I can get a lead smelter and cast.

I also want to build my own shot maker...However, that's another story completely HAHA...

Complete shotshells slugs, or just the slug itself? (The reloading component).

Let me tell you, casting is the way to go.

Here are a few pictures of the last time I cast and home-rolled my slugs.

The first picture shows the completed ingots after the lead was smelted and cleaned.

The second picture is the little corner I set-up on my balcony to cast the slugs.

And the last picture shows approximately 360 cast Lyman 525-grain sabot slugs.

If you want to see me reload the slugs progressively, click on the video tutorial below my signature.

Home-rolling slugs is the BIGGEST money-saver, as good low-recoil slugs are expensive.

LOL yea I watched both videos already...Good stuff! Wish I had a set up that nice...

Anyways, I was looking for the slug component.

Yea I know casting your own is best...And a smelter/mold for doing just that will def be my next purchase.

I'm seriously pissed off about the price of shot too...I realized you don't really save more then a dollar or two per box when loading for clays or small game because the price of shot is ridiculous...the real money savings come when you load your own buck and slugs. I really want to build a gas burning shot maker, but have yet to find some good plans for one...

Seriously though, if I (or anyone) could craft QUALITY (< key word) shot, then I think a savings of 50% or more could be achieved by loading your own target shells...

Go here, and learn, learn, learn!

In my opinion, the best three sites for boolit-casting ANYWHERE!
