I just DROS'd my 3 lowers this morning at the Norwalk store. They didn't have serial numbers yet, but they let me start the DROS today. I also just received my LPK's and buffer tube assemblies so I'm GTG with three full uppers in 10 days!

That's so weird that you guys were able to start the DROS and ten day wait without the serial numbers. When I put my deposit down John at Torrance stopped the paperwork when he got to the serial number and said that he had to stop and couldn't do anything with it without the serial number. He joked with me asking "Are you trying to get me in trouble?" So I'm guessing they aren't supposed to start the DROS without the serial number.
Can some of you guys saying you started the DROS and are picking them up in ten days show some sort of proof, especially if you bought them at the Torrance store? I'd like to see some sort of proof so I can go down and get my paperwork sent out without wasting a trip down there.

Screw you, now your calling me a liar?
The reason they can start the dros now and not before is because they actually have the lowers in the wearhouse. When you put your deposit they didn't, therefore they weren't sure if they where going to get them within the 30 day mark. Also, they don't need the serial number to start the paperwork on long guns. For you, I would suggest you call the store around the 30th of January so you can make sure you will be the last to get one. |

Wow. I think you need to chill out. I'm not calling anyone a liar. I didn't call anyone out. I'm just saying there is a lot of conflicting information in this thread and based on what I have been told by employees I wanted to know how people are getting the dros started. I wanted some sort of proof in case Turners turned me down and said I have to wait, then I could be like, hey what about these other guys or these other stores. Not because I was accusing anyone of lying.
This is my first firearm purchase. My others have been inherited. So I'm unfamiliar with the process and just going by what I was told. I'm not here to call anyone a liar or argue with someone over the Internet. That is stupid.

ok guys...PSA lowers are in and West Co is doing DROS. Went this moring and completed everything. My release date is Jan 14, 2013.
Also they are taking deposits on Franklin Armory stripped lowers either 249.99 or 299.99 not sure exactly because I could not read the ad on the rack, and frankly did not care since I'll be paroled on the 14th. Good luck everyone. |

I think there is some confusion based around, filling out the DROS form ahead of time, and processing the form. I thing with every pre-order, they are having people fill out the form to get some of the paperwork out of the way, i dont think they are running the DROS until they have the lowers on hand.
imagine if they ran a dros but did not have anything to give you at the end, i'd expect them to remburse me for my money spent w/o a product. |

How much are the lowers? And yes you can start the dros, but if they don't arrive in 30 days you have to pay dros again. When you fill out the dros they run it immediately. The 30 days start when you sign it.

Hey guys, I've updated my original post to reflect the updated status of these lowers.
Cliffs: I went down to Torrance today and started DROS on my lower without a SN on the paperwork. They're going to allocate SNs upon pickup. They expect them to be in 1/8 or 1/9. |

I'm assuming this must be down to store manager preference. Some must not want to mess with all of the on-the-fly allocations. Seems a bit silly to wait though, as serial numbers don't even go on long gun DROS if I recall correctly.

You guys are getting some conflicting info out there. My friend drosed his on the 30th and he picks it up on the 9th (reseda store). On the 30th, they had the serial # and it was on his paperwork he got.
Now if anyone calls me a liar, I will put my money where my mouth is and wager with anyone that the above is true- with receipt and all. |

Started DROs at Corona location. First sale associate sent us away (and we waited in line for at least 45 mins), double checked with another more helpful and in the know on this specific exception, who then checked with the manager, and he indicated this is a one time deal with how this is working. Normally they never start DROs without a serial number ever they said and will not in the future. Thanks to all who posted on how this is working.

It seems they're in the warehouse. I was told they got about 3k PSA lowers and are allocating them to the stores. I'm not even going to bother starting DROS on them until they call just because they're busy enough as is without me going in there and asking for special treatment.

Took my friend to DROS his at Norwalk today. The salesman was a little unsure but the manager was right next to him and said go ahead. I'm pretty sure I saw someone else start his too, but then I also thought I saw someone get shot down. Seems this is salesman specific as they don't seem to be communicating the policy to all the employees.

I did the DROS for my two lowers on January 3rd at the Rancho Cucamonga store and my daughter did hers on the morning of the 4th. Person who helped me said they were in and they had the serial numbers to start the DROS.
