Picked up a 1906 Finn marked Tula M91, an 1898 Finn marked Tula M91, and a plum barrel 1944 Tikka 91/30. Got to say hi to Flyin Brian as well and see some of his toys. The show is much better on Friday compared to Saturday/Sunday.

What makes Friday so much better?

Generally the earlier you get to a show the more that is available before it is all picked over and you end up with the scraps.

I got the type 44 from Wally. Got a Nambu from him a couple of years ago. He's the guy with all the Japanese medals and guns.
The other guy was asking $1800, or something like that for his 44 I paid $950 for it and a box of 6.5.
Justin's getting some 9MM Largo?

This is also true but overstated in my visits to hundreds of gun shows in different states.

Start a thread on the 44 I like those for $950 it must be a nice one. Most I see are humped up and thrashed.

I know Wally, good guy, outta Vegas we've traded emails on several occasions. Good to know you didn't buy the one I described, it was a total mismatch, poor finish possibly cracked wood, guy offered if to me for 4400 down from $500, I passed I had one that I sold a couple years ago at auction for $750, matching second model with Mum.

I went on Friday and was in the doors ten minutes after they opened. No C&R's for me at this show as I found this about fifteen minutes after I got there.

That pretty much emptied my wallet for the weekend.

Didn't make this one, plan on the Nov. show.
You're a married man now, you can't be buying guns! Cleaning rods? HTH do you find these deals? Does the set trigger work? I just got an education from Jim Gruetner on the '73 single set trigger working on GMG's '73. Don't ever pull one apart without that education! And don't ask me how I know that.
bigbossman scored a '73 in 32/20, but I'm still waiting on pics.

Great show - Showed up early on Friday - I finally got a chance at the tactical back scratcher I've been hearing about -

Even in the elusive orange furniture! Now I can get that oh so hard to get range that was eluding me!

Oh I tell you the accuracy of this is fantastic!

That does look pretty handy!!

I got home last night from 5 days gone and I think I should have taken the day off work today. Actually I kinda did, since I am just sitting here bleary-eyed and not getting any work done.

That was a long trip, long show, long drive... I'm beat. Picked up an Iver Johnson revolver for less than it costs to eat the GSR buffet!!

I got to see a lot of familiar faces and made some new friends. All in all it was a good show

And the AC works better too. But alot of the sellers leave early on Sunday. I was considering a Redfield 3200 scope for my mid-50's Model 70 in 220 Swift, guy was gone by noon Sunday.

I picked up a very clean Winchester 69 on Sunday, a Ceiner conversion kit for the Browning Hi Power with 2 mags included.

That's the steal of the show right there. Those things are going for twice that across the border. I would know since I paid that for earlier this year for an unfired one without the accessories.

highpower, That is a steal! If and when I see one for sale now, it's around $1500 and they don't last long.
Remember, no heavy ball, and put a recoil buffer in it anyhow. When you get tired of that 300lb trigger pull, check out the Red Star adjustable.
microwaveguy, nice pair, you'll like shooting the Smith a whole lot more.

I traded another one of my rifles for it plus a littel cash....all in all around 4k in total...yeah, those cleaning rods go for 200+ now a days. the W marked lyman sight is worth 300 bucks alone...38-40 caliber.

I saw that rifle, it was nice. WAY out of me league, though.

We're a week away so I believe it's tradition to bump this thing.

Anybody know any reliable vendors that are likely to have C&R handguns?

Probably wouldn't be a bad idea to send a copy of your 03 FFL to Cabela's in advance if there is any chance you will be swinging by, so they can call it in.

Details here: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s....php?t=1129278

I am not going to make it this time so everyone have fun.

Work is such that I just can't get away next weekend.

Table D-7 or D-8 is Mr. William (Bill) Drollinger, one of the most honest and well respected dealers I have ever met. He is a Korean war vet who has been in the business a long time, and he is not able to carry around the heavy long rifles any more, so he has been converting to handguns. He has all kinds of good C&Rs there... just don't buy the registered S&W revolver - I want it!!

I still paid for my tables up there this month but I don't think I am going to make it. My wife is turning 50 on Monday, so I am taking her to Disneyland!! Also the Military Silhouette Match is this Saturday at Sac Valley, so I am hoping to get over there and shoot. If I do make Reno it will just be a mad dash to get up and back for a quick look, but I highly doubt it.

I hope everyone gets a deal!!

A couple of weeks ago , [ wife's birthday ] I stopped by Cabalas in Boomtown . They had a salesman / group meeting in Ammo isle . The larger stuff was at the end of isle - nothing for the 50 AE /44 mag except primers . Saw no powder at all .
1st time I never bough anything there .
At least I got to park close . I did not see any larger range bags [ I want one that will hold the caldwell shell catcher
