Be fun to have a meetup and shoot one of the Big Show weekends. The Washoe county range has steel from 300 to 950 yards.

So what's everyone looking for? After 9 acquisitions this last month, I'm feeling burnt out and need some inspiration.

One day I'll make up there. Who wants to carpool from SoCal? I'm kind of selective who I'd go with though. I dislike how this show sometimes conflicts with the Costa Mesa show. I'll be at Costa Mesa. Reno is the only major gun show in USA I have never made it to.

Is it worth going on Saturday? Or is this a "be there at the start of the very first day or only slim pickings will remain" kind of show?

I haven't gone to a Reno in over 10 years, but since I'm an adult this time, armed with a C&R and CoE it could be pretty fun.

Sunrise Pass Arms north of Minden NV is a place to go for C&R and antiques which makes up the majority of their inventory and is CA friendly. They have 3-4 safes full and several racks in the small showroom.
CALL before you go though 775-267-2284 or email with questions as to what they have if you are looking for something in particular sunrise@pyramid.net
Harold is the owner, Dan is the gunsmith and he usually works the store on Fridays, they are closed Sat and Sunday.

Model 10? Not familiar with that one. This had to be the most crowded one I have ever been to!
Most of the license plates in the parking lot were from California.

S&W Model 10. Probably a Victory specifically.

So what's the quick rundown? I was going today, but came down with the flu last night so I'm hoping I'm well enough to make the trip for a few hours tomorrow.

OK, think I saw one in a glass case in the larger section, can't remember which row. But guy wanted REALLY big bucks for it. If I remember correctly, several grand.

Must a been something special, going price average I've seen $300-$450ish, condition relative plus newer non C&R may be costing more also.

Could settle for another Colt Police Positive though. Just looking for a decent shooter in 38 Sp that won't break the bank. Can always buy a new Armscor M 206 3 in bbl though but then have to pay all the extra Fees and 10 wait, etc.

I'll check this out tomorrow.

Ya never drove fer Valley Farm! My first Dispatcher taught me to be first in line and ya get more loads and better loads

I always beat the fulltime, high seniority boys by at least 20-30 min for first load out.

Youse guys are supposed to call me when ya get into town or blow by Cabela's, there's cell service out there.

I'm going early, used to be if you got there by 8 AM you could always find parking spot by the driving range, not anymore, I gave up cruising the parking lot last time and just Valet parked.

You don't need the COE. I've been going for about 12 years and so long as I had my C & R and $$$ had a good time. I notice there's more than a few CA FFLs so if you see something modern doing a transfer is generally doable, especially if you're in Northern CA.

Sunday is my favorite day. It's the least attended by buyers, but sellers tend to leave early.

Scheels, Cabelas and Sportsmans Warehouse are also a good stop - Cabelas is on the way in @ BoomTown. I'm picking up a new Remington 700 at Cabelas, having it sent back with a dealer.

I'm wondering if the spot sellers are still trying to get $60.00 for a brick of crappy 22 ammo.

Unless things have changed, Sportsmans Warehouse in Reno is NOT CA Firearms friendly. Would not ship into CA a 10/22 I wanted, once I mention having it shipped they guy wouldn't even let me touch it! Their ammo and accessories usually are cheaper than Cabela's 22lr hit the shelf Friday AM with higher purchase limits that Cabelas usually.

Good to know, I haven't tried to have a gun shipped from Sportsmens. Nor Scheels either, so can't speak to them. At Scheels I usually grab powder. It's not unusual to find powder, reloading supplies and ammo (especially 22) selling for less at the stores than at the show.
