Default combat rescue

Got a photo from my son in Afghanistan. Thats his 50 next to him... door gunner for the AF's combat search and rescue. We are so proud of him and hope this tour goes well.

A rescue helo went down yesterday, all 5 were lost.. My son responded to the crash. This is hard. Thank you all for the kind words.

That pic is freaking awesome! RIP to the young men that went down in that helo. Looking forward to seeing the pic of you and your son hanging out when he returns home safely. Much love and respect to your family sir.

Details are still few on the helo that went down. News is reporting that it was a UH60 not the HH60 the AF uses. That's an easy mistake...plus the # of crew is wrong for an AF Pedro flight. Still a terrible day for so many families. I pray for them .

No, the show on NatGeo features Pedro 64 and 65 & their crews. My boy is on Pedro 24.

Actual weapon firing/running positions are hard to get as there are plenty of weapons troops (usually either weapon loaders or assemblers,) but very few positions for gun operators. Its a sweet job. Go Air Force!
