Looking for feedback on super-x .22lr-40gr. plated round nose, 1300 fps.....
I ask because SG Ammo has a pretty good deal going right now on a 2000 rnd case. Most of my .22 handgun platforms are centerfire units with a rimfire kit. Because of main spring stiffness, some of them need the high velocity, heavy bullet loads to cycle well. But I have no experience with this product, and don't want to acquire 2000 rnds of it if it has "issues". Any issues with this Winchester ammo? Similar to CCI mini-mags? All my conversion kits run well on the .40 gr mini-mags. TIA |

I used to shoot nothing else as it was very reliable in my 10/22's, Winchester 190, and Mark iii semi autos. Not to mention, it was one of the most consistently accurate of the various ammo I had tried. This was from about 12-14 years ago though and have since switched to mini mags due to availability.
I periodically go on squirrel shoots where I would go through hundreds of rounds in a shoot so I had to have volume, accuracy, and reliability across several guns. The mini mags provide this for me now but the super-x did its job back then. Hopefully, the newer manufactured stuff does just as well - I just don't know.

Worked great on my rifles- - pistols not too much. CCI Mini mags work great for all of my 22 pistols.

CCI mini mags much better for .22 pistols.
Winchester's were smokey at indoor range.

Depends on the pistol. Typical 22LR, they have preferences.
I have had mixed results with Super X in some pistols. They run fine in others. Usually run fine in semi rifles. A lot of the fun is figuring out what yours like. Mini Mags always seem to work. As do Blazer LRN. I'm a big fan of the Blazer LRN as plinking ammo. Runs my ISSC M22 pistol flawlessly vs other cheap ammo that can jam every other round. YMMV. Robert

Never had any issues in handguns or rifles I’ve owned. How much
for 2000?
